I feel for the folks who paid to go to Wacken but turned away. For the others, chin up - there will be an official release. I wonder if there was miscommunication over what was to be done and livenation or whoever was doing the stream put out erroneous information at first.

I can understand these people. I know how disappointed I was. Hell, I even bought tickets to cinema for my wife & son so I would have quiet evening and I bought some beers to drink while watching. And then I saw that there would be a documentary instead of a stream. :mad:

If there's a good reason they better fucking address the situation cause the backlash is huge, very bad pr. Helfest wasn't livestreamed either. Every other band (Helloween, Megadeth, Kreator to name a few) was broadcast. It was the least they could do for the tens of thousands of fans that travelled long distances and spent money and time only to not be allowed into the festival. Honestly, I doubt there is a good reason.

This is a tour that has been demanded by fans for I don't know how long. I think they don't want to have the entire show streamed because they want to release a concert video at some point.

I can think of some reasons if I reach very hard. One of them being that Bruce and Nicko aren't in great shape and a proshot would expose them. The other being that Tony Newton mixes every maiden proshot (including Wacken 2016 iirc) and he's on tour now

They released a book of souls live album but we still got 4 tracks from Donington and a full Wacken 2016 live stream
