Maybe for AC/DC.Didn't AC/DC say their Powertrip date was an one off, or am I mistaken?
What I meant was that if AC/DC did say that indeed and they keep it then it's fake.Maybe for AC/DC.
But for Maiden, it simply doesn't make sense. Shipping gear from England and back (they don't have a touring B rig), even tho Powertrip money covers it, is incredibly expensive.
Plus a few additional dates would be a pure profit, much to delight of mr. Roderick Smallwood.
Lol, it makes perfect sense to do powertrip as a one off based on the huge pile of cash that’s likely been thrown at them.Maybe for AC/DC.

Not really. A few additional dates (around 10) would make them pure profit with 0 effort. No extra rehearsals, nothing.Lol, it makes perfect sense to do powertrip as a one off based on the huge pile of cash that’s likely been thrown at them.
The only people who think differently are North Americans desperately hoping that maiden do a short US tour around this time.
Sorry to burst the bubble but powertrip is likely to be a one off. Maiden have their touring plans all laid out years in advance. This is just a one off as the money was too good to say no too.
I would guess that powertrip put a clause in the contract forbidding Maiden and the other bands to announce any other dates nearby until after the festival. Not really. A few additional dates (around 10) would make them pure profit with 0 effort. No extra rehearsals, nothing.
In my opinion (I'm from Europe and I don't care if they play additional shows or not), it would make much more sense to play a few more shows. Financially and musically. Shipping costs, flying the crew over the pond (who are from the UK in majority) etc... Just makes sense. Plus, Maiden always does a run-through the show rehearsal at a venue after a few months off, which is impossible in this case, because it's a festival. But, as is the case with Download usually, no dates will be announced (if there are some) until a date that was pre-determined.
We shall wait and see.

Most festivals do this to the headliners as they are the big draws for the festivals.
If power trip allowed any of the bands to announce a few of their own dates before and after the festival before they’ve performed at power trip that would very likely put ticket buyers off going to power trip if they could see most of these bands on other individual dates.
With this being in October I just very much doubt they’d be enough time before the end of the year to organise other dates if they can’t promote anything until after the festival. Plus I would bet maiden already gave a US tour lined up in 2024 so they can just rock up to power trip with the full stage set then leave it in storage somewhere for when they come back in early 2024.
Don't agree. They should go on as long as they want and can do it somehow on high quality together. Especially if the whole lineup is still on stage. If a solution like this will bring a couple of years more Maiden on this quality I will be in.Who would agree to that though? It'd more dignified to step down altogether rather than sit out the songs he can't play.
They already have a large run of NA dates for next year, there won't be that much urgency to add a run of 10+ dates so close to a pending announcement for next year. Not really. A few additional dates (around 10) would make them pure profit with 0 effort. No extra rehearsals, nothing.

I'm still convinced that they will do at least a few dates. As I said before, no more than 10-12. Especially if they get into RRHOF.They already have a large run of NA dates for next year, there won't be that much urgency to add a run of 10+ dates so close to a pending announcement for next year.
There production isnt that elaborate , its a simple boxed in design that needs to be shipped the rest is taken care of, and for the amount of money they are being paid not only are the costs completely covered they will pocket a nice profit.
They could even store the production for next year too.
I wouldnt expect any additional dates, I would love to see it but I think they will hold off
There isn’t an “only US show” stipulation. Metallica is touring all summer.Interesting. I hope they add more dates though I wonder if they are getting around a possible "only U.S. show this year" stipulation by Power Trip by doing just a few warmup shows in Canada?
Now I'm beginning to doubt there will be any east coast shows in 2023Maybe a few more shows down the west coast? Seattle, Bay Area, Vegas? (I know that one's not on the coast, but you get it)
If they don't, I guess I get it. These Canadian shows are warm-ups for a high-paying festival and they get to make some extra cash.Stipulation may have been a poor choice of words but let's see if they do any other US shows this year or just the few dates in Canada leading up to Power Trip
It's always possible. I could foresee something like....Maybe a few more shows down the west coast? Seattle, Bay Area, Vegas? (I know that one's not on the coast, but you get it)
