The Future Past tour 2023

Well, I think it's possible that this changed their plans:

The 36th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place on Saturday, October 30th, at 8 p.m. EST at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

Yeah, Bruce stated whatever he has in the past. But, I think a bit of persuading from Rod, the managment and possibly bandmates changed that. We all know that fan votes for that shithole mean basically nothing and the bands are more or less decided by the jury which runs the place. So, I think got the note they are getting in and the managment persuaded them to attend. So, they combined that with a run of US dates starting with Powertrip (or one arena gig before in LA to get the rust off), which is a goldmine for the artists in terms of money (Rod's inner Yorkshireman is probably in heaven).

I expect a short run of dates through the US (around 10-12 concerts) and possibly a date or two in Mexico (likely Monterrey) to be announced after Powertrip sells out, which it will very fast. Going from west coast to the east coast. Basically the same old tactics as with Download recently. Tour either finishes with RRHOF or in Florida.

My 5 cents.

If that is true, what would be coming next? Iron Maiden to headline Glastonbury in 2024 and to play Hyde Park in 2025 so Bruce gets to eat a healthy dose of humble pie?

Fake?

Out of those I'm only a Maiden and Tool fan, but that is an absolutely insane line up. Legendary is the only way to describe it. Let's see if it pans out.

I would pay money to see any of those bands, with the exception of Guns N'Roses.
After hearing the negative feedback from some of my friends who went to their shows at Tottenham last year, I'd be inclined to agree, although I strongly suspect anything Ozzy does 'live' at this point will be heavily backed up by vocal tracking, and could be a bit of a sad spectacle.

He can barely stand let alone sing for two hours. Besides, Ozzy has been using backing tracks since the 90's.

It was rumoured that the headliners for Desert Trip in 2016 (this Power Trip festival is kind of the sequel to Desert Trip) were paid 10 million dollars apiece, so yes, the organisers have deep pockets!
I can only assume that tickets to this event (not to mention the beer prices) will be astronomical if they're paying the headliners that much. Otherwise, there's no way they could recoup those kind of costs. Unless the organisers are happy to throw money away of course.

Oops, I forgot to add Ozzy to the list of artists I would not be paying any money to see live!

The predecessor, Desert Trip, is estimated to be the highest grossing music festival ever, taking in around 130-160 million dollars worth of ticket sales - so yeah, not cheap.

Ozzy sounded rough at Ozzfest 2003, dread to think what he sounds like now.

Saw Ozzy 4 times down through the years, two solo and two with Sabbath.

The worst was the first time, solo and audibly using backing tracks. The other 3 times he was good. Obviously long past his best at the time, but if he was using backing tracks it wasn't clear like it had been the first time.

The hired guns he has with him are always good and he only does the hits so not much to complain about.

I thought Maiden would play in indoor Arenas this time.
…And yep, it looks they're going the support of Guns N Roses. Sad.
Anyway I think Maiden doesn't fit in that bill but hey…it's El Dorado. I can't see British Lion & Raven Age there btw?

Power Trip is a massive ka-ching for all band members.

If the rumoured 10 million per headliner is true (as it was for Desert Trip), that means 1M per band member plus additional 4M for crew, managment and everyone else. Damn.

If genuine, does that mean there are competing stages or are Maiden going on before GnR?

Doesn't the headliner always close the night of the festival? They can't be a support band. No way. Interesting festival lineup, although Maiden doesn't really fit, but we can draw some analogy with Dortmund 1983. This tour includes a few outdoor shows, not just indoor arenas.
