2014 Tour Rumours

I understand everyone has their own opinions, but in regards to the prop argument...

The Eddie-scribe statue that was shown during "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" in 2012-13 was by far one of the coolest things I have ever seen in my life.

I understand the need to play those "classics", but hopefully we'd hear some rarer 1990's songs as well... such as Tailgunner, Be Quick or Be Dead, Sign of the Cross, The Clansman, Futureal? Public Enema Number One? Afraid To Shoot Strangers (again)? No Prayer for the Dying? Wasting Love?

Gaaah.
If they play No Prayer For The Dying or Sign of the Cross and don't come to the US I'm going to cry.

Indeed. I would be crying with you. And hating them at the same time. But then loving them again. Oh god, that would be such a love-hate relationship...

True, but as far as the actual stage design goes it was pretty bland. Unfortunately, I never got to see scribe Eddie, the stage in Milwaukee was apparently too small....

Ah, I felt your pain there in the 2012 concerts I attended. The one in Chicago, I was WAAAAAAAAY off to the right of the stage (it was practically a side-stage seat), and my view was obstructed because of a gigantic ass curtain that the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater has around the stage (for whatever dumbass reason). I didn't get to see ANY of the backdrops/props, or Nicko, during that concert.

And then the Indianapolis show two weeks later was too small, so they simply had the backdrop design. I thought I'd never get to see the statue live.... but then saw it both times no problem in Kansas City and St. Louis in 2013.

The last flurry of posting I've seen like this was when that picture of Lars was posted. That really brought all the boys to the yard.

I've never had a problem with spoilers for a concert. I'd prefer to know the setlist in advance, so in case there's a song or group of songs on there I don't know... then I have time to learn them and be prepared for the show.

But I can understand how some people would probably prefer to not know, and thus be completely surprised during their own live concert.

Here is the advertisement for Hellfest 2014. The bill is to be announced on dec the 4th. Take a look at the final sentence !

Probably doesn't hurt being posted again, lots of posts to shift through in this thread. Awesome though! Looking forward to the announcement.

Unfortunately, I chose the wrong tour to go spoiler-free. I knew the '08 and '10 setlists in advance, and especially the latter would have been fantastic as a spoiler-free show. For '12, I knew about Moonchild, The Prisoner, and Seventh Son (none were to wildly out of place anyways)... guessed CIPWM, TETMD and Clairvoyant, hoped for Infinite Dreams ( :( ), and... had Afraid To Shoot Strangers spoiled for me by some idiot FC member in the line to get in (he knew I hadn't looked at the setlist). The rest, with the exception of Phantom, was a complete letdown.

This time around, if I'm reasonably confident they're coming to the US, I'll go spoiler-free, purely because I feel like the 90s concept could hopefully prove a little more inventive in terms of setlist choices.

Bah, you mean you DON'T want to hear Two Minutes To Midnight, Number of the Beast, Trooper, Run to the Hills, Wasted Years, Can I Play With Madness, and The Evil That Men Do again?!

Nah, I agree with you. I was also kind of disappointed at how similar the Maiden England set was to Somewhere Back In Time. Felt kind of robbed of an appropriate "Somewhere In Time" tour, all of a sudden.

I can understand not wanting to be spoiled for this potential 1990's tour... I may try to avoid them as well after all. Because it is a valid point; the tour has potential to have a lot of surprises.

But nah, you can guarantee most, if not all, of the songs I just mentioned above will be in! :pWhich unfortunately is already almost half of the set list...

I'm in the same boat. Granted, they didn't really plan for Maiden England when they built the setlist around those three albums in 2008, but even the 2009 setlist (which I maintain was changed because they pushed back ME for it's own tour/DVD release) still had ten songs in common with 2012. If this 90s tour has more than half its songs in common with Maiden England I'm going to be pretty fucking disheartened at the current state of Iron Maiden...
