The Future Past tour 2023

Haha not the greatest Bruce costume but he had some dodgy ones during the 80's by his own admission
This jacket and Bruce's stage costume for SOT are one of my favorites.
I honestly don't see any particularly major changes. LotB covered a broader sweep than previous history tours
For LOTB it's true, but a hybrid tour of 2 albums (old and new) is not a major change?
The classic only tours (history, legacy) are over I think.
I think you're right. They've run out of ideas, but they can always do a Legacy/Hits tour again (if they want).

But I think they will do a 2nd leg of this tour in 2024 and release a new album in 2025... unless they want to celebrate their 50th Anniversary in that year with a Hits tour. I can see them doing another hybrid tour with the next album and 50th anni, they like to repeat their new habits.
Stratego is not a good choice, it’s not working live that well as we witnessed last summer.
I wouldn't say that.

there's every reason to play this one and almost no reasons to leave it on the shelf.

Maiden mgmt - are you reading this? PLEASE PLAY FUTUREAL !!!!
You are so right. Plus it's a song which Bruce has already performed live. It could even be the concert opener. Btw, Derek Riggs artwork for the song will be a great backdrop for this tour.
I still really badly hope they can find an opportunity to do a smaller venue tour with all of Senjutsu being played.
Me too, but it will never happen, unfortunately.

Not sure if anyone keeps up with his channel or already posted this...but interesting:
I think it's plausible, as "Sea Of Madness" is intimately linked to the "Hell On Earth" that's happening right now... Because of its madness, Humanity is making of our beloved planet Earth some hellish place... That's why I think this song will possibly be played next year...

Speaking of backdrops,

SIT Eddie is not used much as a backdrop, so I expect an epic new artwork with him (or they can use the full album cover or only the futuristic city like for ''Iron Maiden'' in 2008). I also expect: SIASL Eddie (single cover or a new artwork in a snowy setting), WY Eddie (or its single cover for Time Machine?) and a brand new artwork for ATG. Sea Of Madness could have an interesting backdrop.

I really hope they will use the Senjutsu artwork from the booklet as a backdrop (for any song of the album). The backdrops for DOFP and Time Machine could be really cool (planets, vortex, time machine). I expect epic backdrops for HoE and Parchment (or Death Of The Celts). It's curious if the backdrop for TWOTW will be different.

Yeah, when H's riff kicks in, the song really starts powering through. As I said before, it would be a great choice to open the show with.
Yeah, a Wildest Dreams type of opener (although the outro is a bit unusual for concert openers and the intro should be skipped, I guess).

Btw, do you think Adrian will bring out a special guitar for this special tour? We certainly expect that from him. Something like the 2MTM guitar or the guitar from SIASL video or a brand new one. The green Jackson and his signature white & black one (like in 1986, ofc) will be his main guitars.

He probably won't play a MIDI guitar again. However Jackson could do a special signature with SIT artwork.

If this tour has a 2nd leg in 2024 (I'm sure of that), I expect the tour poster to be with both Senjutsu and SIT Eddies in full length. Maybe an epic battle again (like for LOTB 2022 tour poster with Trooper Eddie) in a futuristic setting.

Come to think of it, such an artwork would be perfect for a cover of a live album from this tour (it's a must) or for a backdrop (of the last song in the set next year).

I hope they record EVERY single show and compensate the lack of material from the original tour we have (or better: we have not) yet with a multiple-version release of all the SIT-jewels they play on that tour. Even nicer could be a changing/rotating setlist from night to night (or from leg to leg at least) with every single SIT song being played at least for one time, so they have numerous 2023 live recordings of EVERY single SIT song. With that material then they should sort of rerelease the entire Somewhere In Time album: Tracks in the same order of the original studio album - LIVE IN 2023.

regardless of what happens or which songs they choose besides the obvious 2, I am happy they are doing this. it's been a long time coming. I am excited for the merch too. It is probably the most excited I have been for a tour from them in some time. I have been on many tours and still, nothing beats the first time I saw them in 2000 on BNW tour. I was a kid, had only known about them for about 3 years but it was Somewhere in Time that I picked up first and drew me to them. Still my favorite album in music, period. I'm excited, what can I say. This will be a tour I go to multiple shows on like Maiden England was.

I just hope they dare to go about as far as they did on the original tour in terms of designing the stage.

I’m almost sure we will be getting new live DVD this time, and I’m definitely sure they will drop Senjutsu for a Steve’s song, such as Parchemnt or DOTC. Also, CSIT will not be played due to Nicko and his pedal.

So, the setlist goes something like this:

1. Days of Future Past
2. 2 Minutes to Midnight
3. Sea of Madness
4. The Trooper
5. The Time Machine
6. Stranger in a Strange Land
7. The Number of the Beast
8. Heaven Can Wait
9. Death of the Celts / The Parchment
10. Fear of the Dark
11. Iron Maiden
12. Hell on Earth

ENCORE:
13. Alexander the Great
14. Stratego
15. Wasted Years
