Powerslave might be uneven, but it features four of the best songs Maiden have ever recorded and epitomises the classic 80s Maiden sound, the stuff that made them legendary.
True.
Senjutsu might not be perfect, but it's a very consistent album. It's easily one of the strongest of the reunion era and would still make my top 10 if I'm looking at the whole catalogue.
I agree and it's perfect for me, although I would have liked another shorter song.
Looking back at for instance the 2011 setlist, I always thought that was too much on the safe side.
Spot on.
I'm a fan of Senjutsu and Somewhere in Time to me is the most consistent Maiden album, but the first two years of LotB had a perfect setlist.

To me, unique setlists are just as fun to witness as a set of my absolute favorites. If I had a set of 5-and-5 from the albums I think are the weakest of the 80s and of the reunion era (TNOTB, DoD), I'd be happy.
For me those albums are POM and TFF (it's difficult to choose when all albums are very good), but I'm happy with any setlist. The original setlist of Legacy tour was indeed one of their best. Great balance. A perfect setlist is defined if you like all songs in it, the songs are always strong. My opinion is that they can top it with Future Past.

I am not denying it would be a cool setlist (I will probably get to see 8 songs I have never seen live before in addition to Heaven Can Wait and Wasted Years), but that is not the benchmark I would necessarily use to describe the best Iron Maiden setlist ever.

It's kind of a moot point though, if Maiden were to play some "best ever setlist" on every tour it would cease to be the "best ever setlist" pretty quickly.

Whether LOTB had a better setlist to whatever is played on FP tour doesn't really matter, it's done, over, probably already played one more tour than it should have been. The point of a new tour is to be new.

Hey, I've been away for while again. Sorry.
I have had some little stuff going in real life, so I've somehows managed to stay away from the forums.
I've been busy and stressed some stuff, but last week I got the biggest news of the year..Im so lucky one.
I might share more insight to this later but that can wait til another day.
Looking forward to the show and seeing Eddie & The Boys in early june.

Nice to see you´re back! Have a great Vappu!

What do you think, will they drop any of the 5 classics or which one would be the most likely to be left out? I think out of the 5 they might give Number of the Beast a rest (when was the last time NotB wasn't played?). Although it looks like none of the 5 will be ever dropped (only if a another lawsuit appears, but I think they have learned their lessons).

I doubt they'll ever drop NotB again. It's been out the setlist exactly once after 1982 and that was in 2006 for a comparatively short run of dates with a very specific reason (needing the space for the entirety of AMOLAD; TETMD and 2MTM actually hadn't been played for years at that point so they got in over NotB and Trooper) and it's only even been considered once since, for the Book of Souls tour.
