Gah, I always see “Nicko Jr.” in this picture before I realize it’s his feet!
Yep. Even "post-stroke-simplified-fills" Nicko at the beginning of Future Past Tour while also 71 years old, he was still playing at a pretty high level. I still remember reading an old interview with Steve (FotD era, if I recall) where he said he couldn't imagine still playing while in their fifties. Look at 'em all now.Damn just realised he's 72 now. Guy with the most demanding job in the band, playing demanding music, is getting pretty damn old. Not like the Stones with their standard mid tempo stuff. It's a marvel Nicko is still going. What a guy.
If he can keep going even while simplifying fills I'm fine with it.Yep. Same. Fills aren't a make-or-break thing for me with Maiden. And he added a bunch of fills back in as Future Past progressed, so who knows where he's at now.If he can keep going even while simplifying fills I'm fine with it.
Hell, Lars has been doing it for twenty five years .

nevermind it's on setlist.fm. How did he perform?Anyone know the setlist from the first titanium tart show?
Nicko has still his great sense of humour, so that's the most important. It's a miracle he's playing at all. I skimmed through the videos and noticed a few things (Trooper fills still missing, not sure they'll ever come back now) but that's fine all things considered.
"Titanium Tart and their management, Rebecca McBrain @ Lady Phoenix Productions, would like to thank The Barn Sanford, The OCC Roadhouse Clearwater, and Piper's Pub Pompano for our gigs this past week. A special thanks goes to Karen Lazer, Victor Lima and Greg Watts for your help in organizing these great shows! We very much look forward to the next time and hope it can be very soon! We'd also like to thank our killer crew, Jim McCourt, Rob Mieves, Joel Michaud and Bryan Keogh for all their hard work. Above and beyond! We look forward to seeing everyone out there next time. Til then, well, you know what to do! Rock on, of course!"
