Best of reunion albums:

Best opener: The Wickerman
Most consistent album: A Matter Of Life And Death
Best song: Paschendale
Best production: AMOLAD/TBOS
Best artwork: TBOS

Worst of reunion albums:

Worst opener: Wildest Dreams (it's a good track though)
Least consistent album: Brave New World (Mercenery, Sections of Dream of Mirrors, Fallen Angel and Nomad are collectively a level down on anything else they done in the reunion, the rest of the album is some of the best stuff they ever did)
Worst song: The Nomad (terrible lyrics, Bruce called it "Carry on Camel" at the time, the only good part was ripped off)
Worst production: Dance of Death (Adrians guitar sounds like a jar of bees, whole thing is too loud)
Worst artwork: Dance Of Death (don't care about artwork TBH)

I notice TFF get's no mention. For the record, it's a real strong record that's let down a bit by taking 2 or 3 songs to get going.

Also re: the consensus that DOD is the worst of the last 5 albums.

I think the songs are generally all good, I can nitpick a few things such as the lyrics to AOI seeming like they were written by Jeremy Clarkson, but there's nothing I find too objectionable. The filler stuff that they didn't play live is way better than similar tracks on most albums.

The running order seems to not get the most out of the songs, or maybe more accurately the album is top heavy with mid tempo songs meaning the album doesn't have the dynamics that are necessary for a top notch album.

Best of reunion albums:

Best opener: Brave New World (The Wicker Man)
Most consistent album: A Matter of Life and Death
Best song: BNW/BNW/BNW/DOD/TBOS (The Wicker Man/Out of the Silent Planet/Blood Brothers/Rainmaker/Shadows of the Valley)
Best production: Brave New World/A Matter of Life and Death
Best artwork: Brave New World/ and maybe close second is TBOS - I only hate that it has no details, only one dark background, but the Eddie is superb !

Worst of reunion albums:

Worst opener: Satellite 15... The Final Frontier (The Final Frontier) - the intro is so unnecessary, and the song is very simple, not epic, for being the title song !
Least consistent album: The Final Frontier
Worst song: Age of Innocence (Dance of Death) - that song, should not be on the album !
Worst production: Dance of Death/The Final Frontier
Worst artwork: Dance of Death - not so worst album cover !

Maybe my least favorite reunion album is TFF, or DOD - but, if DOD was without 2 or 3 songs, which are fillers, it would be as great as TBOS ! TFF has unnecessary long songs and some not good improvisations in the solos ! BNW and AMOLAD are masterpieces !!! :) TBOS also has an unnecessary long songs or I should say long parts of the songs , but it is a lot better album than TFF ! - which has some gems !

Best of reunion albums:

Best opener: Brave New World (The Wicker Man)
Most consistent album: The Book of Souls
Best song: DOD (Paschendale/Dance of Death) TFF (The Talisman)
Best production: TBOS
Best artwork: Brave New World (50% of Derek Riggs is enough to win)

Worst of reunion albums:

Worst opener: AMOLAD (Different World)
Least consistent album: AMOLAD (great bits here and there but bloated and boring overall), DOD close second.
Worst song: Age of Innocence (Dance of Death)
Worst production: Brave New World
Worst artwork: DOD because of the added "guests" (the version with Eddie alone was not so bad)- otherwise AMOLAD (an average idea - Eddie at war? meh-, rather poorly carried out as far as the Eddies are concerned, but I like the colours though) . Besides, on AMOLAD and TFF, there was a pattern of "skull Eddies" which -in my opinion- didn't work, especially the one with the "keys" (TFF) in lieu of bones.

IMO the reunion era peaked with DOD. It's a minor concern that by my personal ratings, if the pattern holds, the next album will be the worst of the reunion. BNW 7/10 was great. Dance of Death is the best of the reunion and is my 3rd favorite album of all time- 10/10. Then a step back with each subsequent release: AMOLAD 8/10, FF 7/10 and BOS 5/10.
I am optimistic however that this next release will rock and push DOD as my favorite of the reunion. :edmetal:!

Or trolling.
Less trolling than the people suggesting 2020.

Recording an album then immediately hitting the road for a greatest hits tour before releasing it, in order to build hype for the release is exactly the pattern they followed for Brave New World, Dance of Death and the Final Frontier. It was also the plan for Book of Souls before Bruce got sick. All of this is spelled out very clearly in Bruce’s book.

Couple that with offhand comments by Dave, Bruce and Kevin Shirley, rumours of studio bookings in Paris, their satisfaction with writing and recording TBOS in the studio over a six week period, their open acknowledgement of the limited time they have left, their stated desire not to go five years between albums again, and the gaping hole in the calendar to start 2018 and I will be shocked if there isn’t a new album in our hands by September.

You negative Nancy’s are ignoring the signs.

Thought the book tour wrapped up just before ChRistmas.
Couple weeks off then into the studio.

I hope you're right. Another thing to support your theory is that the Give Me Ed tour was announced before Maiden went into the studio for Dance of Death.

The pessimistic side of me points to the part of the press release that says the tour will continue into 2019. Could be subversion, but these nostalgia tours are big for the band.
