I hope Maiden to do that: 2018-2019 LOTB tour and at the end of the 2019, september or december, to release the new album and 2020 new album tour , to 2021 ! :)
That's the most good way for the band and for the fans !

There is little wrong about what's written and recorded on TFF, it's how it sounds, and how in particular Dickinson sounds. I found myself rarely listening to TFF, and if I do it will be MoM/Avalon/Starblind, because for others there's En Vivo where songs are twice as better. Instrumental section of Wild Wind blows TRATB out of the water.

I don't feel they're giving the 100 percent there In comparative to TFF. As I said before that's my perception.
Don't need to be rude.

While I agree that TBOS, considering that they actually put some effort to the production and the fact that it is indeed very ambitious album, has some flaws and mistakes here and there, it just sounds much more inspired and passionate than TFF. TFF isn't a bad record nor is the songwriting bad, but the pure sound of it is a bit... lame. It's like they had plenty of awesome song ideas that got executed very well for the most part, but the whole thing sounds a bit too clinical. It might have been different story with the sound if Compass Point Studios wasn't as "dilapidated" as it already was back then and they actually spent more time writing and recording there together. I enjoy it, but TBOS takes the intensity to another level and they sound much more inspired on TBOS than on TFF. That being said, TFF is a very decent album and while they could have given more thought to a thing or two, none of the songs is actually bad, they're all very enjoyable and a there are some true gems in there. Well, I wouldn't praise the opening track and especially the underwhelming S15 intro that much, but at least it has some good attempt to be a dramatic opener. The intro suffered the same fate as DOD cover art: work-in-progress piece that was supposed to be basis to something much more elaborate, but Steve loved it as it is... :D As @Zare mentioned, these songs really shine live (The 2011 set was otherwise a bit uninspired though) and have much more kick in them. Starblind is pretty intense on the record though; would have loved to hear it live, but it might have been a bit too challenging anyway.

Back on topic, I actually believe that is indeed the schedule they're probably going with. As I said, I believe the recent events and great vibe that has been around will carry on to the TLOTB tour and writing process of the new album. After all, they had some ideas around during ME tour; the upcoming tour could also kind of get them into the right mood or something... :)

In any case, I'm sure there will be another album, unless something extremely dramatic happens. It is rather realistic thought to expect it to be released somewhere around late 2019 or even early 2020 and tour starting either february or may/early june, depending on the album release date.

Well if I compare some of the songs, that are similar and were written by same people, are similar style or have the same placement on the album from TFF and TBOS:

Satellite 15 ... The Final Frontier < If Eternity Should Fail --------------- IESF is a far superior song to S15...TFF.
El Dorado < Speed Of Light ----------------------- SOL is a better song than El Dorado.
Mother Of Mercy = The Great Unknown ------------------ Both are good songs, although nothing spectacular.
Coming Home = Tears Of A Clown -------------------- Both are great songs with great solos, can't pick one.
The Alchemist = When The River Runs Deep --------------------- Both are fillers IMHO.
Starblind > Shadows Of The Valley ----------------------------- Starblind is a far superior song to SOTV.
The Talisman < The Book Of Souls ---------------------- Both excellent songs, but TBOS is probably one of the best Maiden songs ever written, so it takes this one.
The Man Who Would Be King < The Man Of Sorrows ---------------------- I like TMOS more because of the great lyrics.
When The Wild Wind Blows > The Red And The Black ---------------- WTWWB is a better song than TRATB. Both lyrically and musically.

So, comparing the two albums, TBOS wins in 4 heats, TFF wins in 2 and 3 are a draw IMHO. EOTC was left out, because there is nothing to compare it to on TFF, since it's completely unique.

So overall, I think TBOS is a better album.

TFF also has some of the worst lyrics ever.

"We flee from what is not what is will be"
"I'll die a lonely death of that I'm certain of"
"We have crossed the other side of the ocean with the tide"
etc.

However, WTWWB is a freakin' masterpiece. El Dorado is alright too.

"We flee from what is, not was is will be"--
Creating their future by traveling to the new world, instead of accepting what they envision as a drab, meaningless future at home...

"I'll die a lonely death of that I'm certain of"
Here I imagine the soldiers' agony and helplessness of his situation in war...

These are great lyrics in my opinion that fit their respective songs very nicely. Overall I find Final frontier more enjoyable than TBOS,

I understand the meaning behind them, but syntactically neither of them makes sense.

The good lyrics on TFF more than make up for the bad ones, which can also be said for the songs overall. It's an inconsistent album, but contains some of their greatest moments. Still not really sure where to place it in the discography.

I feel they tried too hard to replicate the raw style of AMOLAD when it didn't fit the material. Of all the reunion albums, it was the most deserving of a more polished production. They also probably went with first or second takes on everything, including the vocals, when clearly Bruce was not up to it this time around.

According to Bruce's book, he had to re-record most of his vocals at Kevin's studio in LA as Compass Point Studios were, sadly, no longer up to scratch.

On a related note, AMOLAD > TBOS > BNW > TFF > DOD

I love The Final Frontier from start to finish. It's Maiden's proggiest album, which appeals greatly to this old proghead. Isle of Avalon, Starblind, and When the Wild Wind Blows are three all-time Maiden classics to me.

I like the proggier moments, but overall find it much less consistent than AMOLAD, TBOS or BNW.

Well if we speak about reunion albums and give awards to them for ceirtain categories (there will be quite a lot of ties):

Best of reunion albums (IMHO):

Best opener: The Book Of Souls (If Eternity Should Fail)
Most consistent album: A Matter Of Life And Death
Best song: TBOS/TBOS/DOD/AMLOAD (Empire Of The Clouds/The Book Of Souls/Paschendale/Brighter Than A Thousand Suns)
Best production: Brave New World
Best artwork: A Matter Of Life And Death

Worst of reunion albums (IMHO):

Worst opener: Dance Of Death (Wildest Dreams) (I still like the song, but not as much as the other openers)
Least consistent album: Dance Of Death
Worst song: Gates Of Tomorrow (Dance Of Death)
Worst production: Dance Of Death
Worst artwork: Dance Of Death

So yeah, I'd say that DOD is my least favourite reunion album. But it still contains two of my absolute favourite IM songs, Paschendale and Dance Of Death.

P.S. I'm interested what do you think are the best of/the worst of reunion albums in those categories.

Just for fun...

Best song: TBOS/DOD/AMOLAD (Empire Of The Clouds/Paschendale/The Longest Day)
Best production: Brave New World/A Matter Of Life And Death
Best artwork: A Matter Of Life And Death

Worst of reunion albums:

Worst opener: Dance Of Death (Wildest Dreams)
Least consistent album: Dance Of Death
Worst song: Age of Innocence (Dance Of Death)
Worst production: Dance Of Death
Worst artwork: Dance Of Death (thanks to Bruce's book, we now know why!)

I really think the new album will be out months after LOTB ended. And a new song played on the last leg. For me the best reunion album is AMOLAD. I found TFF better than TBOS because there aren't unnecessary parts for me and is their most prog album. They experiment a lot with the sound like the drums on the man who would be king and prove themselves with songs like the talisman also the instrumental parts on WTWWB or the intro to the final frontier are great. I don't want to talk about alchemist hahhahaha.
