Coronavirus

This is one of the saddest things about the pandemic, and has mostly likely contributed heavily to high numbers of cases in poorer areas. I'm not convinced by the argument that industrial disease is a major factor behind higher death rates in certain towns and cities - it's far more likely the high number of cases because people are in lines of work that mean they can't work from home, and population density.

Exactly. The first thing I thought when we were told to work from home is that the solution works well if you CAN work from home, but that only represents a minority of workers. And then there’s the tragedy of care homes...

I am also completely fed up of working from home. I'm bored and extremely unproductive. My employer should give us an update about returning to work at the end of the month so there's a chance we might start returning next month said:
My feelings exactly! Working at home is just a joyless toil for me. I liked being with my colleagues, now I sit here all alone filling in spreadsheets. Our date is also until the end of August, although it may be lifted sooner. I've been disappointed so many times though that I probably shouldn't expect anything anymore. :(

I do feel sorry for people who'd like to work from home but cannot. However, for me it has been sh*t. It annoys me that a lot of media coverage has stressed how well working from home has worked, even the Minister said on TV that it works so well it will be continued until September. Well no, for me it hasn't worked well, not at all!

I could do with getting my hair trimmed again. I managed to find an open barbers the day before Boris said we'd go into lockdown, and that was three months ago! Time flies eh?

Fixed it for you!

My hair is now down to half my back. At this rate I would soon need to be careful when I go to the toilet.

Oh yes, I remember that from when I had extra long hair! :D I cut my hair short a couple years back, and I've had several different styles of haircuts since. During Corona restrictions I was thinking if I should have a haircut, but now that I could go to the hairdresser, I've grown to like the way it looks, so I think I'll let it grow some more. The only problem is that my current 60s style cut doesn't look very good with Maiden shirts. :)

Well, my summer vacation plans went out the window two months ago. Fortunately, it's not been that hard to cancel and get money back for rental car, accomodation and airshow tickets - and the AT-6 flights we had booked will be rescheduled to next year. I'm now just waiting for the airlines to officialy cancel my flights to and from the UK so I can get my money back for those.

Meanwhile, there are new countries where the pandemic is on the rise :( and in the US, despite their president having everything under control, several states now have increasing numbers.

This shit is going to stay with us for many months to come. Hopefully not years.

If by "this shit" you mean the virus, it will most probably stay with us for much longer than mere "years".
If you mean the measures, I expect they'll soon be forgotten.
I mean the pandemic, i.e. the virus outbreak on such a scale that it will on some level affect more than just a country here, a city there.

Once it is confined to local outbreaks across the world, things will be pretty much normalized in the rest of the world ... but as I said, I think that will take months.

World Health Organization alerts that the pandemic is fasting (over 150 K in the last 24 hours) and the World is in a very dangerous stage.

Several new cases in the town, authorities say they've picked it up abroad so no local transmission thus no measures applied. Skeptics say we're not testing enough. Realistically, I think their reactions are going to be loose either way because we're already on the "ok for tourism" list.
