Coronavirus

IMO, they should start testing people for COVID antibodies soon... If the Australian research is right, people develop immunity ofter they are done with it. So, if people were tested for antibodies, they could know if they are immune or not and could return to work.
Are such tests available on a large scale yet?

If nothing else, there's always Star Wars to see you through.

Policy change at work: people with asthma are told to stay at home. So that's myself and my partner, until policy changes again.

Fear will come alive fear will go, through the darkness and the woes
There will be a light deep below, the sub-conscience only knows fear

Fear, fear, shattering the atmosphere fear, fear, travesty is here
Here, here, covering the path that's clear
Fear is only what you feel... false evidence appearing real
Huh, Testament seems good. Might start listening to them.

Some research suggest that blood type is associated with the course of the disease. Worst cases were among those with blood type A. It's too soon to tell if this research is right, but these are the conclusions after examining 2100 people.

Schools in the UK will be closed indefinitely from the end of this week and no exams will take place this year. Some English schools will remain open for children of key workers such as healthcare staff.

I was speaking to one of my Italian colleagues - who is from somewhere quite close to Milan - about the situation at the moment. His family are not in one of the worst affected towns, but they are about 20 miles from some of the worst places. He is also starting to hear that people he used to know have died, like one of the priests who conducted his wedding last year (he was 82). I asked about the videos of people singing and playing music from their balconies, but that's happening in the regions where the situation is not that bad. People in those places are basically bored. In the worst towns, nobody wants to sing when they hear the sound of the ambulance nearby.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has launched a GoFundMe page to help hospitals in Italy:

"Italy has always given me so much and, in this dramatic moment, I want to give back even more to this country that I love. I decided, together with the people who are working with me, to create a fundraiser for Humanitas hospitals and to use my communication power to spread the message wider. It’s a serious issue and we need a concrete help that’s not just about a video.
I count on the generosity of my colleagues, of all professional athletes and of those who want to make a small or large donation according to their possibilities, to kick this virus away.
Together we can really help hospitals and doctors and nurses who selflessly work every day to save our lives. Because today we are the ones cheering for them!
Let’s together kick the CoronaVirus away and win this match!
And remember: if the virus don’t go to Zlatan, Zlatan goes to the virus! "

Ending in classic Zlatan fashion of course!

I’m a peripatetic music teacher who visits lots of schools. Most of my schools have had at least 40% of staff and pupils absent. I am still going to go in and teach the pupils that are left (kids of key workers and those on EHCP plans) Everyone needs joy at this time and music can do that. Especially kids with parents on the front line.
