Coronavirus

Oh, I agree it's nice that there's an option. I'm just saying I wonder how seriously the Uber Eats drivers are taking things, that's all.
Everything is a trade-off, in this case a good one IMO, fewer people going out overall. Plus obviously health is a concern, but we do not want to come out of this with closed businesses and this will help keep some afloat.

There isn't a confirmed case in Montenegro or Dalmatia yet. Out of tourist season, both places are geographical backwaters with no transport hubs. There are 30 confirmed cases in the central region of Croatia, and there are cases in every region except Dalmatia. Either it has been somewhat contained, or, and this is a big concern, someone is lying or not administering tests correctly.

In the US, cutting layers of FDA red tape would speed this way the fuck up. Same with everything from testing to sanitizers

Yes but there is a need for protection mechanisms. If you cut controlling without any sort of guarantee, the managers will blow that whole financial exempt on cocaine, leaving consumer with same (high) price, not to mention the lack of standards. You'd need a contract saying no red tape but it should less up the burden on R&D and not suits.

  • Contactless deliveries: To help you feel confident about safe delivery, we’ve made it easier to have food left at your doorstep, and are working to provide delivery people with sanitization materials. As always, your food items aren’t touched once they’ve been packed by the restaurant.

I got a delivery like this yesterday, I just thought the delivery driver was being a prick.

One of my Chinese colleagues said that a delivery driver jumped back from the door further than he needed to, perhaps because he was scared of seeing a Chinese person.

Italy are over 30K cases and over 2500 deaths.
Spain over 11K cases and over 500 deaths. 184 deaths in 24 hours.

It's scary

Had a conference call today with a client that is involved in streaming videos.. their quote was pretty much "we are not going to lie, this is good for business .. but is sucks in every other aspect of life"

I hate that culture of these f*cking hooligans that don't know how to enjoy and have fun without a bottle of alcohol in their hands.

that's the bouncer! Someone who should be being professional not threatening passers by.

One of my coworkers were on the toilet while taking a call without video (thank God). What gave him away? Sound of flushing water in the middle of a meeting.

Now nothing will shock me.
The senior partner in my first firm used to do this all the time - he'd dial the call and we'd hear him address the client by their name (so we knew the client had answered), then the sound of the door closing and locking. A couple of minutes later the sound of the bog flushing, then the door would unlock and out he came, still talking to the same client! One of his colleagues at his other business interest used to make a point of only ever ringing him on the one line she knew was securely tethered to his desk (ie corded). He thought that was so funny ...

Now at least 5,359 cases in the US! These CNN updates are hard to keep up with.
But CNN is fake news from libtards trying smear the Holy Trump.

I've started to pay less attention to the news on this now as it's only going to stress me out more.

My university has suspended all face-to-face teaching and recommended that all student who are able to go home should do so. Obviously many international students will not be able to make it home so they university will continue to function enough to look after them. We've also been asked to stop having face-to-face interviews and work from home if possible. This afternoon a survey came round asking us if we're able to work from home and if access to any facilities at work are required. I expect that we will be instructed to work from home indefinitely from Monday unless special access is required. I hope we will be allowed access to our offices though as I find it tough to work at home.

It's going to be a long slog getting through this. God knows what the world will look like afterwards.

Could result in a major paradigm shift politically. I expect even greater demand for protectionist policies and improved social safety nets. That's already a trend that has been well underway due to post-Recession economic issues and the migrant crisis, I expect it to receive a further boost from this crisis due to the problems with global trade and much better performance of well-funded public healthcare systems in dealing with management issues.

Visitors packed Clearwater Beach in Florida despite social distancing warnings from health officials over the coronavirus pandemic.

Since there aren't enough facepalms for this, how about a few kicks in the ass!
