Coronavirus

The main problem with the map is that they're colouring each country by category regardless of the size or population of each country. It's particularly unhelpful for Russia which could end up with several hundred cases outwith the domain of the map. Colouring Kaliningrad the same shade as the rest of Russia is also pointless.
Or they should only mark the cities coloring whole map is just for the shock.

Also there should be also information about age of sick/dead. If I remember correctly in Italy 86% of deaths is in group of 60+

In Poland we have also flu epidemic, in March there was at least 200 000 cases and 7 deaths

Since I'm starting new work on Monday and it demand quite long travel for me by two buses and train I will probably be negotiating work from home. My gf have early stages of diabetes and our kid since infancy had lung problems so this is quite important.

Seen somewhere in cyberspace [< I can almost hear Bruce singing this in '86 but I digress]:
"We'll all have a good laugh about it in a year's time... OK maybe not all."

The measures taken against the pandemic in Norway now includes that all arrangements with more than 500 participants should be cancelled or postponed ... the ice hockey playoffs are postponed, the biggest amateur ski race in Norway is cancelled and the playoff against Serbia for EURO2020 will most likely be played behind closed doors.

Maybe the tournament itself will suffer the same fate ...

Flying from Sofia to Berlin for two nights tomorrow. Sofia has no confirmed cases, Berlin 50+ and an administration so chaotic it puts Italy to shame.

Wish me luck.

Some of my co-workers are planning to start working from home. And at least one I know (in a different department, but he's also part of the football team) has been ordered to work from home for two weeks as he came back from Japan after the outbreak there.

Good luck :ok:
You won't be under quarantine when you come back to Sofia, will you?

Here's a hierarchy of my concerns:

1. I'm travelling to Berlin to write an exam. 41 hours until then, time enough for the government to announce a snap decision that universities are closed, meaning I'm doing the trip for nothing.
2. Staying with my parents, who are in a high risk group if I should infect them with the virus.
3. A decision to halt the return flight might be made while I'm there.
4. I might fail the exam. I'm tense and this Coronavirus thing and the uncertainties surrounding me don't really help.
5. I'm going to spend a lot of time at airports, on planes and on public transport in a city with 50+ cases and no efficient control, so there's a chance I might contract the virus.

Also, Russians could start a nuclear war tomorrow just for the fun of it.

A colleague of mine's mother has been hospitalized with coronavirus. He spent time with her a week ago, so now almost 50 people from the office are quarantined for a week. Including me. Joy.
Lousy bastards want us back in the office tomorrow. Colleague's test results came back negative. And I was enjoying my quarantine so much... Sigh. This is why we can't have nice things.
