Bruce Dickinson

The problem is, all of that vibrant imagery and the voice of a bona fide legend feel like wasted potential when paired with music that sounds like it belongs in a commercial for a pickup truck.
Bruce should play more of the new songs live, as the fans really seem to appreciate them more that way. 3 or 4 more.

Regarding the quote, the music is more a mix of hard rock and metal, but it clearly doesn't mean that. He just wanted something different in feel - and I prefer that approach rather than repeating the great old stuff (although he is a great songwriter). Yeah, I expected and probably would have liked his ''old style'' more, but I listen to almost all the songs from the album every day and I really like them. There is a certain special charm. I would call it a special album for me. Some of the arrangements are not that interesting, but Bruce saved the album with his ideas imo. Big time. But he's not a guitarist. Plus it's not like the album doesn't have references to his overall solo work:
Ragnarok - the heaviness of TCW + the vibe of Skunkworks in the chorus.... some of the most liked solo albums of his.
Many Doors - catchy short and anthemic rocker in the vein of classic rock from the 80's or from TM.
Rain - a really different style for Bruce, but he's a big fan of Deep Purple after all.
Resurrection Men - the melodic approach of this song is so memorable (BTP vibe, some fans really like this album) and including the heavy middle part, it's no surprise is a live hit.
Wounds - a song that could fit in TOS with great vocals.
Eternity - we already know it's a classic.
Mistress - a song with AOB and Skunkworks vibe. One of his big albums.
Face In The Mirror - the traditional ballad that may not be memorable for some fans, but it's a nice and needed change of pace.
Shadow - probably the best and most liked song from the album. It's not unique, but it brings so much emotion. Pure class.
Sonata - again it's something different and not for everyone, but with songs like Eternal or some of the old bands Bruce is a fan of, I think this song shouldn't be a surprise.

We only don't have: a pure TCW song and a TOS-esque fast and heavier banger. That's it more or less.

I know it's hard when it comes to Bruce (or Maiden), but why concentrate on the ''negative'' aspects for the listener. See, I don't get it, enjoy what you like, and there are plenty of those moments on the album.

There are 67 songs from his solo catalogue I'd rather listen than All the Young Dudes (everything that he is not playing live, including all the B-sides) but Zulu Lulu. I hope he will rotate this with something else from Skunkworks ir Tyranny.

Agreed. All the Young Dudes blows. It’s my least favorite Bruce song. Can’t believe he’s wasting a spot for that one. He already has one cover song in the set (good to show off the band jamming). Don’t need two.

However, Faith was a very surprising and cool addition! If I could choose, Innerspace and Inertia would be my first choices, but Faith is great!

All the Young Dudes might not be fantastic, but it is still better than most of the second half of the Tattooed Millionaire album.

Great call. Me too. Just play one of the first 3 songs from the debut.

Faith sounds nice live. Bruce sings it like it's 1996.

All The Young Dudes brought loads of great memories and a few tears, watching the clip from Wolverhampton. Wish it was played in São Paulo, a few days ago, alongside Faith, which sounded fantastic, too!
