The Venezuelan government announced the immediate release of a significant number of prisoners — both citizens of the country and foreign nationals.

“Consider this gesture by the Bolivarian government, aimed at achieving peace, as a contribution that we all must make to ensure a peaceful life for our republic and its aspiration for prosperity,” said National Assembly Speaker Jorge Rodríguez.

Not always. There was a marked shift in law enforcement training in the 1990s after drug dealers started using fully automatic weapons against the police, and the companies that made military vehicles and weaponry saw an opportunity to vastly expand their customer base by selling “less lethal” versions of their products to law enforcement agencies large and small.

Training changed from “protect and serve” to “come home in one piece no matter what”, and that obviously caused a major change in tactics, clearly for the worse.

Which was to be expected, they don't care. You can see that she tried to move away from him. They claim he was hit by the car, yet he's still standing at the end of the video and ends with "fucking bitch". Anyone who refuses to acknowledge this as anything but state sanctioned murder is beyond saving at this point.

Most people with half a brain can see the ICE agent could have easily stepped out of the way and let her through, but he knew full well as soon as she accelerated in his direction he could open fire and claim self defense. Police have gotten cleared countless times being trigger happy, and it will continue happening.

You guys both left and right need to do something about it. Talk to your representatives, talk, protest. This must be stopped. A country that kills its own citizens so easily and officers get cleared is not a nice place to live. 2nd Amendment I can understand, but this is third world stuff.

30% of the population rejoice over this - they are too stupid to realize they have been trained like sheep to group-think on steroids and love everything, or close to everything, the Dicktator does. People on this board think it's funny and likely approve.

Also, the ICE scum don't hold jurisdiction and their illegal demands aren't lawful orders, despite what the MAGAts like to claim.

And it's also important to note that US media is complicit in everything that happens. Not only does no one have a spine anymore and everything Trump and his admin do is being sanewashed. They also refuse to report on the constant protests that have been happening for the last year, choosing only to mention a few of the biggest ones that cannot be ignored anymore. To us outside of the US it feels as if nothing's happening in America and people are just accepting the insanity. If I didn't have acquaintances in America who are telling me about all the protests I'd think nothing is being done too.

You don't get to place yourself in a potentially dangerous situation (like near the front of a vehicle) and then use the danger YOU PLACED YOURSELF IN as an excuse to kill someone. You don't get to kill someone when you can use other measures like stepping out of the way.

The bullet hole in the windshield is at the very edge of it, the other shots went through the open passenger window. He shot as she was pulling away from/around him.

Exactly - she was clearly trying to avoid him and the only reason the car touched him at all was that he then stepped in closer to get a better shot:

Even if it could be argued that the first shot was fired in self-defence (and I think that even the most credulous non-MAGA would need a lot of convincing on that), the second and third shots most definitely were not: after the car has got clear of him he then steps in even closer and actually reaches in through the open car window to fire those two shots a point blank range - which would be completely unnecessary if he was indeed acting purely in self-defence. Spite? Or simply to make sure she died?

Confirmed - they did NOT: unless she was either:
  • interfering with an arrest, OR
  • assaulting an officer, OR
  • suspected of being in the US illegally.
Literally none of this is applicable - certainly not at the point at which they start ordering her to "get out of the _ car".
