The Official Book of Souls Tour 2016 Thread (Warning: Spoilers within!)

I wonder what Download France will be like? They'll be selling day tickets for €66 (about £50) from Friday. My last Donington day ticket cost £80, and they didn't go on sale until something like February/March. Accommodation was a nightmare, though, most of it was booked up long before the day tickets went on sale and cost a fortune.

Edit: Donington is selling day tickets from this Friday today, but only a 'limited number'.

Download France looks tempting, especially with the strength of the uk pound at the moment.

I hope they play another venue/date in Sweden other than Gothenburg June 17. But if that's the only one then I guess that's where I gotta be.
Could be an opportunity for a Scandinavian Maidenfans meet-up?

There's already semi-talk about a possible meet in Norway - if they play there - also perhaps more likelihood of something indoors if they do play Norway.

But its's even easier for me to get to Sweden and especially Gothenburg....

But those Ullevi tickets are gonna sell out before noon......

Personally I'd love to add Ullevi to my list of places where I've seen Maiden, I can get there quite easily both by train and by car. Where to do a meet-up? Depends on what's most convenient for those who are interested.

Yup. But....Just saying, Ullevi tickets are going to sell out like immediately when they go on sale in 6 days...So like, that decision need to be made rather fast, if to buy tickets or not for this :p It took around 2 hours for Maiden to sell out Ullevi in 08 and 05.

This is true. This is the kind of sale where you gotta be up and sitting at a computer and press 'buy' the second they go on sale. I think it's safer to buy tickets now and then if you decide not to go or can't go you can always sell them later.

They've done Twickenham before, but they're not known for playing UK stadiums. Maybe too niche to consistently fill stadiums, and fans don't like stadiums that much.

Well, if they announce some indoor arena show in Norway I'd much prefer that....Just because it's indoors. Don't know if they'll play Denmark either - but Roskilde Festival looks the most likely now that they are doing summer festival shows.....and they were there last time on the Final Frontier leg.

I don't know if it's a good idea to wait, or to dive on whatever you can get. Everything is expected to sell fast, and dates aren't being announced together, so you can't weigh up then options and choose your preferred show. Maybe that's the reason for the way the dates are being announced, though. People are scared of missing out so they grab whatever they can get.

Yes you're right and like @Natalie said, you just have to decide and buy tickets and then if you can't make it or whatever, hope to sell em later on. I hope that more (hopefully Scandi) dates are announced in the coming week though. Would make things a lot easier :D

Ullevi has been expanded from a capacity of about 56,000 to 75,000 since then though.

But yes, the servers crashed in 2013 after an hour, at a time when there were about 1000 of the 56,000 tickets for the Friends Arena show left.

I'd say the biggest problem that causes this is that almost everyone I know buy more tickets to sell later. I'd like to see personal tickets that can't be sold second hand - that would be much more fair to everyone involved, and in the unlikely cases of someone not being able to attend, there could a regulated way of selling the ticket on without losing to much money.

I have hotel booked in Gothenburg for the show now. Free cancellation, so why take the chance - the popular/cheaper hotels close to the stadium are already full.

I'd be interested. The chances are I'll go to Download and I think a couple more UK dates will be announced at Download for August, but I'd also love to see Maiden in another country for a change.

If there some kind of balls-up with the Gothenburg presale? I'm hearing that there are meant to be Golden Circle tickets but they're not showing up for the presale folks or something? Could an FC member check the forum and see if there's anything about it there?

Download seem to have accidentally revealed that Rammstein is their Friday headliner. They've removed the offending tweet and started a countdown to tomorrow morning.
