I like the back drop, too. But you can never have too much Eddie IMOI disagree about that backdrop. I really like it.

100% agree.Still I must reinforce the idea that deep cuts are always welcome...
This. But you can never have too much Eddie IMO
I think it's a cool backdrop that creates a vibe for the song. The ''one colour'' backdrops, combined with the lights from the 80's tours were a good fit for those times (and the stage sets the band used), but with the current stage sets and Maiden's imagery it's best to use backdrops with artworks imo. And I'm not only talking about backdrops with Eddie, the landscapes are pretty epic too. As much as I like Eddie, I prefer equal use of both. And for some songs like DOFP, Prisoner, it's hard to come up with a cool idea with Eddie. But on the other hand, some songs are just mandatory to have backdrops with Eddie (Alexander, Trooper, FOTD, CIPWM).But the backdrop sucks. I remember those times when a solid white color backdrop was amazing with a few lights on the floor. See Seventh Tour or World Slavery Tour
The stage set (decor, design, floor lights) could have been even better, especially with more props or theatrics, but I think the light show and the use of screens is pretty good and fresh. Maiden usually only use pyro for a few songs. Most of the backdrops are cool imo, although I would have liked one with SIT & SJ Eddies alone. The walk-on Eddies appearances are odd but they're great. The big Eddie with it's one colour is kind of cool, but it should have been bigger. I'm a fan of the futuristic theme/design. I guess it was possible to add two towers on both sides end of the stage, but as I said before, this is a ''History tour stage'' and we can look at past such tours to see that they are not so detailed as those for the album tours.I disagree @Kalata . They could have come with cool light effects or some kind of pyro (the Iron Maiden short blue pyro is cool) they could use floor lights like they used on Seventh Tour or even with Bruce in Dance of Death Tour for the title album song lightning his face…something like that. I think this tour is lack of ideas and creativity. IMO
Same here. I like the new show very much. They streamlined it a bit which fits a futuristic theme/look IMO. I like the new elements of the screens, which they've never done before and also hits the theme. I like that they toned down the production a bit and not try to top LOTB. The setlist is amazing. When there's no technical/monitor issues the performances have been great. Just love we are getting a show like this at this stage of their career.Eddie or no Eddie, a cool backdrop is a cool backdrop regardless. And so far I haven't seen any backdrops I didn't think were super cool.

another refreshing thing is that bruce does not hold the flag and change clothes for the trooper.I think that some of the Eddie-less backdrops have been quite refreshing. There have not been that many, but some of them were great (Paschendale, The Prisoner, Death of the Celts).
I have been quite critical of their use (abuse?) of Eddie as a promotional tool, but I quite like the new backdrop for Fear of the Dark.

at least a different thing to do while the band plays it. but i agree that they should have dump the song from setlist.Anything to do with the beer song stopped being refreshing ages ago. Stale and lukewarm at best these days.
