Oh yeah when they do retire there will definitely will be a cleaning out of the vault. They will milk that cash cow for as long as they can
I hope they release one or two pro shot videos of blazes best performances.

Not whole concerts, just like a clip of one or two songs on YouTube. Here's Blaze nailing Man on the edge live for example and here's Afraid to shoot strangers. All nicely edited. That's all I'd like to see.

Hi! My first post here, though I've been reading this board for years. A die hard fan from Finland, looking for a standing ticket to the Belgium show on 13th of July. So in case someone has a spare, please drop me a message! First I was supposed to only witness the two Tampere shows last weekend, but after digesting for a few days I just got this feeling that I really have to go for one more, so the Antwerpen it is then.
Cheers and thanks for your help! I'm traveling alone there so feel free to message me in case there's some good beer activity going on before the show, I'm all up for it!

They really want to top their ugly German shirt from last year, right? Thanks for sharing, so I know what NOT to spend 45 bucks on in Hannover next week.

I do not think it’s that bad!

P.S. I would not buy it though, as the quality of the T-shirts they sell on tour is piss-poor.

Re DVDs: I really think they’re waiting for retirement to do more archival releases. By then there will probably be a clearer idea on how to release that sort of thing (DVDs aren’t it but maybe there’s a streaming/subscription type of option).

This. Once they can't record and tour, I can definitely see 'Arry doing more interviews and releasing more archival stuff.

Even if they went with that "deluxe collector's edition" 4-disc boxes - smaller bands than Maiden have managed to make this viable, because every hardcore fan is going to buy it. And these still use DVDs or BluRays, even often with some of those having the version of the album in pristine 5.1 or something.

I mean - friggin' Grateful Dead can keep releasing 100-CD boxset spanning whole tours. One of the last physical releases I bought was the complete 1971 Fillmore East recordings by the Allmen, packaged in a huge book I'm not even sure where to put at the moment, but I absolutely had to have it.

I will believe any such release by Maiden won't fly off the shelves when I see it.

Last year's was incredibly ugly, this one is kinda fun. I might get it.

The German shirt for Maiden England 2013 was fantastic though and great quality. I still wear it from time to time.

Edit: The more I see it, the more I love it. The sky being the colours of the German flag is an awesome detail.

It's really nice anyway that they printed Hannover Marktkirche on it this time. They never had any Hannover reference before.

They still have an awesome show. They are 65 or 70 years old.... yesterday i was watching Guns n roses videos from the 2023 tour, and that is a really poor performance. He cant sing. Bruce is singing and trying to sing the song like it was recorded in the album. And nicko...i dont know anyting from drumming but for me its ok

Surprised about Celts being so high.
Maybe or maybe not. A Steve epic is almost always more popular than a short song in the classic Maiden style.
Did I mention yet that I'm glad they don't play Total Eclipse?
There was an early discussion in here some people would have liked to hear that one, but thank God it didn't happen. Seemed never likely to me anyway.
Yeah, it would have been quite the surprise.
German Event Shirt, dunno if it's real though

Not that bad, but too similar to the previous one. We need stuff more like the Nordic shirt from last year.

Yes. I want a documentary for every album.

Okay, stop.
Can we, for a moment, please agree that in terms of music, early Manowar were an outstanding band. I dare you to listen to Gates of Valhalla or Bridge of Death and tell me these songs are below Eric Adams' talent.
Why is everyone getting so hung up on the lyrics? There is more to music than that. There was amazing songwriting and playing in early Manowar, and just for the record, the lyrics as a whole weren't as cartoonish as they would become from Fighting the World onwards.

I really wish people would fucking listen to the music they are talking about every once in a while.
I always thought Eric clearly wasted his talent with this band, he has an amazing voice just as good as Bruce, Rob or Geoff (in his prime in the 80's). The problem with Manowar its basically...Joey and the image he wants for his band and it started right from the beginning, all of the clichés that are attached to heavy metal, he went far further with it..."metal is about drinking beer, oh ok, so I'll make sure I'll make a 15 minute about it on stage and drink a big can of beer...metal is about leather..so we'll dress only with it...metal is about huge motorcycle, so I'll make sure everyone know we ride these huge bikes...I'll talk for hours and hours about the fact that I am the only one who knows what true metal is, that Manowar is the only true heavy metal band..."
I could go on for hours and hours writing about this but I'll just say that it's kinda sad that their image (and their speeches and words...) have become way more important that the music itself (Or at least, its something that they put so much emphasis on that it just doesn't make you want to check their music..I won't talk about the lyrics here because it's also another reason I could never listen to them. Of course there is no need for any band to write Shakespeare level lyrics but when your lyrics seem to have been written by a 8 year old child..."if you are not into metal...you are not my friend"!?!?!?!?). Because although I've never been a Manowar fan I must recognize that in terms of music only they have some good songs and as I said in the beginning, Eric is an amazing singer (and Joey clearly knows how to play bass as well). It's just that they are so cliché that it clearly had an impact on their careers.

I really wish that Manowar (and mainly Joey, lets be honest) talked a little bit more about the music itself instead of being that giant walking cliché he is so maybe people would have cared a little bit more about...the music...once in a while.

He's one of the biggest Maiden YouTubers. It's definitely not clickbait.
The thumbnail is pure clickbait though. It's the style all of the big channels are using nowadays because for whatever reason this seems to actually result in better views. I despise it though and will never click on a video that uses this style of thumbnail.

The perfect counter example of "anti-clickbait" is how Adam Neely is doing it: Put the "clickbait-y" question in the title of the video, but put the answer in the thumbnail. So here the video would be titled "Is Nicko McBrain okay?" and the thumbnail would say "He's fine" instead.
