Correct me if i'm wrong, but don't they also always include a solo composition from Steve in their sets? In which case (and judging from what we've heard, part of it is ripe for crowd participation) The Red and the Black would also be a strong contender for being played live.

Iron Maiden has changed my life from roots, changed me, make me an adult and IM was with me in my childhood.
They CAN'T start sucking one day (IMO), Eddie will be always amazing and Iron Maiden will be always part of me. So, don't worry about that! :)
I think the tattoo is cool, I just couldn't resist the chance to joke about bad band tattoos like when people have a poison tattoo.

Just a though, isn't there a big chance/risk that the album leaks at the same time. People will probably try to record in one way or another even if mobile phones probably aren't allowed in the studio

If Bruce plays piano on Empire of the Clouds like the review says it will be very interesting to see how they do that live then...Totally depends what kind of piano piece it is too....but the thought of Maiden with a piano on stage is very alien to me. It will be full on November Rain ;)

It could be that they skip this one simply because there is too much going on for it to be good live....

Me neither. On the other hand I also never thought they'd bring out bar stools on stage and play an acoustic track and they did that in 03 with Journeyman sooooo......

Yeah, I'd be surprised to see them do the full 18 minute song but who knows? Would be very different and they could have Michael Kenney do the keyboard/piano sections if needed. It would be weird, and people would complain about it taking time away from like 4 other songs, but who knows?

I really am wondering if Eternity Should Fail will have a tacked on intro or not? It's a Bruce song which means I really have no idea what it will sound like, but it's also the first song on the album which historically means it will open the show. But I'm mostly curious because of the length - will there be a build up? Will it be a more thought out continuation on what they did with the opener on TFF? If anything else, having that intro spared them from having to come up with a classical piece as a show intro on the tour haha.

4 weeks from now we'll all have the new songs - can't wait!

It sounds like Empire is a massive metal opera/has musical influences going on and is described as being very theatrical/cinematic. To me, that sounds like something that was tailor-made for a Maiden live show. As Donner mentioned, if necessary, they could have Michael Kenney come in to do the piano/keyboard stuff onstage a la SSoaSS.

Not a bad guess, I think. However I hope they'd trade Running Free/Sanctuary for one song off of either DoD or AMOLAD, for slightly better representation of the post-reunion era.
