Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

A Celt is a traditional name for a person or people's who hail from either Scotland, Ireland or Wales. Sometimes known as the Celtic nations
I am aware of that, thank you. ;)
And don't miss our friends from Brittany and Cornwall.

One curious fact about every song from the new album:

1 - the third title track to be the album opener (after CSIT and S15... TFF).
2 - the fifth non-English song title (Deja-Vu, Como Estais Amigos, El Dorado, Senjutsu).
3 - the first song with an acoustic intro to not be written (or co-wrote) by Steve.
4 - the structure of the title is like SIASL.
5 - the shortest song since the DOD album.
6 - with two songwriting credits of Gers/Harris (this song and Stratego), VXI remains the only album without a song from this combo.
7 - the longest song written by the Smith/Dickinson combo.
8 - Maiden have celtic melodies in some songs, but this is the first time they put ''Celtc'' in a song title.
9 - the first 12 minutes long song of Maiden (it was about time).
10 - the first Maiden song to use the words ''Hell'' and ''Earth''.

Why couldn't they just do something like "Senjutsu World Tour presented by The Legacy of the Beast"? That way you can play a whole bunch of Senjutsu but keep the songs that are major parts of the LotB visual in like Aces High, The Trooper, Flight of Icarus, Revelations and Sign of the Cross?

I am hoping beyond hope they will hit NA fall 2022. I really don’t want to have to wait until 2023 to see them again.

I fully don't understand one thing.. Steve often mentions that he has tons of ideas, but from recent Bruce's interview in Kerrang, I got impression that Steve locked himself in the studio and composed songs being there, till 'I think i've got it'. What about 'tons of ideas'? Maybe he had some song bones, but perfected them in the studio. I mean, I wonder, how many fully fleshed out songs he had, starting from 2015, it's a long time. Or he wanted to compose from scratch, to maintain the spontanity factor.
I'd say he has loads of rough melodies, demos, riffs, song themes and lyrics, but fleshes them out in the studio.

I imagine they'll have to be doing some touring Q3/Q4 next year. Only 22 dates in Europe after being grounded for two whole years would be ridiculous. I still think they'll break out the 747 for a quick Americas/Oceania/Asia run in fall 2022.
I actually doubt that. A typical North/South American tour is far more likely. With everywhere else in 2023 including a return to Europe

Speaking of low bitrate and sound issues, there is not one single Maiden release when after someone listens to a leaked version: "hey, the sound is sh..t, this is probably just a low quality release" or "this is a raw mix version, the album version will be much better" (!) then the album is released and everyone like: "WTF?!" LOL
If the bitrate of the leaked version is good enough, most will not be able to tell the difference from the actual release.

I'm kind of getting sick of myself. I feel like an 8 year old who found the Christmas Presents early and can't open them yet.

As I mentioned once before, to help pace the album a bit better, I plan to listen to the songs out of order for the first time. Here is my order:

1. Senjutsu (Smith/Harris) 8:20
6. The Time Machine (Gers/Harris) 7:09
4. Lost In A Lost World (Harris) 9:31
2. Stratego (Gers/Harris) 4:59
8. Death Of The Celts (Harris) 10:20
7. Darkest Hour (Smith/Dickinson) 7:20
9. The Parchment (Harris) 12:39
5. Days Of Future Past (Smith/Dickinson) 4:03
10. Hell On Earth (Harris) 11:19

And if Stratego is released as a single:

1. Senjutsu (Smith/Harris) 8:20
8. Death Of The Celts (Harris) 10:20
6. The Time Machine (Gers/Harris) 7:09
4. Lost In A Lost World (Harris) 9:31
7. Darkest Hour (Smith/Dickinson) 7:20
9. The Parchment (Harris) 12:39
5. Days Of Future Past (Smith/Dickinson) 4:03
10. Hell On Earth (Harris) 11:19
