Russia invades Ukraine

Meanwhile I have to explain to my mother than Zelenskyy is not a Nazi despite this pic that's been doing rounds on the Russian-financed trollwebs

and that they didn't commit genocide against Russian people, forcing Putin to "do the right thing".

I mean, fuck this. If there's one thing I hate about the czarist regime (which I wish was back, instead of this monstrosity that shot through the czar children in the basement, then painted the cobbles of Moscow with blood under Stalin and that was just the beginning), it was this type of hybrid war they came up with. Like the The Protocols of the Elders of Zion that became the main source for everything anti-semitic and that started as an anti-Bolshevism propaganda (because a lot of the revolting Communists were of Jewish origin...)

Sorry, I know it's a digression, but I just wanted to rant. Sorry, sorry, sorry.
Zelensky is Jewish. As far as I know. From Wiki:
"Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy was born to Jewish parents on 25 January 1978 in Kryvyi Rih, then in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic."

Don't go down the rabbit hole of history in terms of preferences. Russia has been ruled by one brutal regime after another for a very long time, and they're not comparable. Instead, hope that Ukraine can cause enough damage to force Russia to pull back with their democracy intact.

You think that would help? (spoiler: it wouldn't) I had to literally hunt down the origin of the pic (there's also a video of the whole routine) and deconstruct it.

Also, there's a lot of Jewish-ancestry people putting forward Nazi thoughts, unfortunately I don't think this type of cognitive dissonance is impossible, so as a proof it rightly wouldn't be enough.

Heck, the fact you have neo-Nazi groups in Russia (or even here, in fact) is absurd enough.

Not the politicians, but the economy. 2 biggest Chinese banks have frozen Russian transactions.

And Chinese goverment stands behind that and is again saying thqt war should stop ASAP.

If they stopped transactions it's definitely a huge message of disapproval however I haven't heard anything. I've seen some hints in local social media that this should end fast enough, though the language was carefully mild.

It's evident that the longer this situation stands, we're in for a serious escalation, nobody with brains in his mind would want that. Let's hope both sides sit on the negotiation table asap.

:)

To start negotiations, first, all of the russian forces must leave Ukrainian territory. Otherwise, russians will use negotiation time to solve logistic problems. (To replenish fuel and ammunition supply). Remember, you can’t trust those bastards. Nothing has changed, MAKE NO MISTAKE. russians see that they are losing, so they offering fake negotiations. Regime is rotten and treacherous.

If the Russians aren't interested in negotiations they are out of their minds. I don't see any way how Russians could really win the war. I mean let's assume that they take Kiev tomorrow. With what money exactly they would fed their puppet government?

Russians should care about negotiations.

@matic22 maybe you are right for about at least one bank, I just heard it now, though from someone not that I read it anywhere yet.

So an unintended consequence of Putins war is that the Germans have decided to increase their defence spending by 100 billion euros. It’s dearly needed as their armed forces are in shambles so thanks again Putin for strengthening NATO.

Putin puts nukes at the ready (elevated status) in response to sanctions.

Putin: "Western countries aren't only taking unfriendly economic actions against our country, but leaders of major Nato countries are making aggressive statements about our country. So I order to move Russia's deterrence forces to a special regime of duty."

It's hard to get through to the source.
Yesterday I saw details that they've banned transactions towards russian entities in Dollars. Therefore Russia wont be able to use China to get $, but they will still trade in yuan
