RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

It could be Joe Lazarus, but another options could be Bruno Valverde, since his actual band Angra will take a brake of 2-3 years when their current tour ends early next year. Plus: He worked with smith/kotzen and has been praised at the time. Plus 2: Hes a good friend of Nicko.

Well, it was expected to happen at some point, but I would have guessed that Nicko will be part of the 50th anniversary tour. Sad, but life goes on.
In terms of setlist it might change things. I was hoping to hear Afraid to shoot Strangers, because it would have made sense, being easier song for Nicko, but now I don't know. Especially if they decide to open with Be Quick or Be Dead (not lots of songs they can play from FotD or 90s). Afraid for it's melody was second most ancipated song after Phantom for me. Others being Rime and Seventh Son (and also No Prayer For the Dying which was and still is quite unlikely).

And on the other note. I think these news increase the chance of there being RFYL tour part ll (X factor - Senjutsu/ reunion era) and hopefully many other tours. For me it still doesn't make sense to celebrate 50th anniversary with only first 9 albums. And it doesn't make sense to have new drummer only for one tour.

With this new drummer, they can do a part 2 if they want. It just depends what are their plans, wich no one here knows yet.

A new drummer means the tour will probably extend, much like LOTB, and become a proper farewell tour as well. But I don't think the setlist will be touched too much - outside of the notable exception of Alexander, there's one seemingly iron cast rule when it comes to Maiden's sets, in that they only play songs that they've already played before. In that regard, you could expect the usual suspects from 80 to 88, and Daughter from NPFTD, along the title track and Afraid from Fear of the Dark.

Personally, I'd love to see them do From Here To Eternity, plenty of room for audience participation, and imo more enjoyable than Can I Play With Madness (which will probably be played in this tour as well)

I hate to say this, but I’m much more excited for the next tour now. Performance-wise, The Future Past tour has been even weaker than the Blaze Bayley tours. If Bruce stays in top form, next year’s tour could be the best since 2008.
Blaze's tours were excelent instrumentally-wise. The problem was steve did lowered the song's tones to fit blaze range.

And I cant say this tour was weak because we have to consider the context of what happened with nicko.

Well, it would be awesome if they now open the set with Where Eagles Dare. Nice way to introduce the new guy and kinda symbolic way to male that transition. I would prefer Eagles more than Moonchild or Be Quick or Be Dead.

And it doesn't make sense to have new drummer only for one tour.
This. And I doubt he will be a full member of the band, just for live shows. Recording in the studio without Nicko would be wrong. Although he won't be in his best form.

Now they can do - Part 2 of the new tour and a new album tour in the next years (around 2030), if they want to. You don't replace your drummer after 42 years for 1 tour. And I'm sure Nicko insisted on that. But I doubt they have plans in advance now, just for the new tour.

Every tour from now on, I doubt the band will want to release live videos for without Nicko behind the drum kit, although next year's tour is said to be spectacular. So TFP video and tour are even more special. Two special albums for me.

I think Nicko will be with the band for the West Ham stadium show for sure.

I hope this isn't true, British Lion are essentially a pub band who happen to play with Steve Harris. None of them have any business playing in one of the biggest bands in the world.
While I think you may right about the status of BL, pubs or let's say tribute acts are filled with musicians that quite possibly can play circles around any current living rock legend, including the Maiden boys :)
The key difference here is - the pub/tribute guys are not famous and do not posses that star charisma, aura or whatever it is called, that thing that makes people consider musicians like Mikkey Dee for the vacant spot in Maiden.
Because he is famous. But it doesn't work that way, Steve does not care who is famous or who is not, he wants someone to do the job and be discreet. The second part is probably even more important than the musicianship itself.
So I would say the gig goes to Simon or Joe. Or even Bruno - in case Steve has let go of that only-british-policy with age.

I meant a pub act in terms of musical ability more than star power. This guy has absolutely no feel and would be terrible for Maiden:
