RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

This. And given the odd statement about filling in the live dates for 2025 (no mention of 2026 or the whole tour), I think RFYL might be the last tour, 50 years later. With no new music (if that's the plan), then what to do? Simon is not a bad drummer, but I just can't and never will accept this formation of the band. The character of Nicko will be missed too. Bruce is probably more interested in his solo career now, idk about Adrian. Maybe the decision of Nicko was a surprise for the whole band and they don't know what to do after the celebration tour. A strange choice like Blaze, but even more so, not that there was a right option. It was a fun and special journey, including here on the forum.

btw, will some songs would be too tough to play?
Difficult timing, this must have been going in the background when last year Nicko was still recovering from the stroke and unfornately it never recovered fully. I somehow hoped that Nicko would still going on next year, but some comments from these newer dates reported that some nights were off with mistakes and some were better. I think he surely did his best, no matter what I have huge respect for Nicko surviving.
I sincrely thought about possibilities and hoped that they would have the reunion lineup until the very end of the band.
So..this is interesting as we don't yet know what will happen after the next tour. This totally surprised us all..

As I had written, Wacken would still announce a headliner for 2025. But it's Guns 'n Roses.
Juras must have gotten something mixed up, or confused someone with someone he supposedly saw in Wacken. :D

Guns n roses.... when Axl can sing at least in a decent form 80% of the setlist i will buy a ticket.

I would say that maybe he is confined to the style of music that BL plays, which is essentialy yes, a pub-rock variety of something remotely heavy.
Maybe he's really a beast and can perform Where Eagles Dare in his sleep, but just prefers to keep it a secret between him and Arry.
Lets see what he can do with a bigger drum kit that he will need for sure. That band....the worst is the singer

Well, it was expected to happen at some point, but I would have guessed that Nicko will be part of the 50th anniversary tour. Sad, but life goes on.
In terms of setlist it might change things. I was hoping to hear Afraid to shoot Strangers, because it would have made sense, being easier song for Nicko, but now I don't know. Especially if they decide to open with Be Quick or Be Dead (not lots of songs they can play from FotD or 90s). Afraid for it's melody was second most ancipated song after Phantom for me. Others being Rime and Seventh Son (and also No Prayer For the Dying which was and still is quite unlikely).

And on the other note. I think these news increase the chance of there being RFYL tour part ll (X factor - Senjutsu/ reunion era) and hopefully many other tours. For me it still doesn't make sense to celebrate 50th anniversary with only first 9 albums. And it doesn't make sense to have new drummer only for one tour.
A second rfyl tour from x factor to nowadays would be great but difficult.

After the slighly shaky opening show in Ljubljana last year we were some fans having a laugh that Maiden would end up firing everyone except Janick due to all the mistakes they made.

Fast forward and it's slowly happening. It'll be Janick Gers' Lions within a few years touring the Maiden machine.

It was always meant to be, written in the stars. Janick's fate, after being the one person to speak up against becoming a cabaret act, is to become the leader of the cabaret act of all time.

British Lion are essentially a pub band who happen to play with Steve Harris. None of them have any business playing in one of the biggest bands in the world.

Steve will be the judge of who has any place in Maiden, thank you very much ...

I think you're missing something important here: what made Nicko the perfect fit for Maiden was not his undoubted talent, though that was important too - it was his reliability and the strong rapport he built with Steve. So it makes complete sense to go for someone Steve knows he can work with. Steve (and Maiden) know what they are getting.

They could have chose many others players. Maybe its money and the new.drummer knows his role. Simon play live , nicko if we record he plays.

Absolutely right, the rhythm section is about the chemistry between the drummer and the bass player.
