RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I remember when they first announced LOTB, and they mentioned something like 'interconnecting worlds', and there was discussion here about moving stages and set pieces. But at the end of the day, we got the same stage layout with some extra props.

I can see them bringing out bigger screens, props, pyro, and lightning. But I can't see them changing the set up of the stage that they've been using for nearly 25 years.

It's hard to tell, bigger props, pyro blasts, and lightning it's just the same they've been doing for many years with the different tours in the past. According to Bruce, the show will be "a whole new level of experience" - so, I hope for a unique experience next year.

The post-covid leg of LOTB showed up the limitations of traditional, practical sets. Having a 6-7 minute delay while the crew changed the stage from the inflatable Senjutsu set to the "War" set could have been eliminated had the set been digital.

They're also probably feeling the pressure from the competition. Many of whom are pulling out all the stops in terms of elaborate stage productions.
I found that pretty noticeable even in 2019, even before Senjutsu World was added. BIG gap as the roadies fiddled about with the set, and it really halted the momentum they'd built up.

As for feeling the pressure from the competition, they don't have to up their game of course, because people will show up regardless. Personally, I hope they do, to be honest. I felt the stage production on Future Past was a step down from how slightly over-the-top Legacy was, despite the screens. They were cool, but didn't add a ton. That said, I left happy regardless, and it was a still a great show.

Yeah with all due respect to what they do, their staging and effects are straight out of the early 2000s. I don’t want to ruffle feathers here amongst the hardcore heavy metal crowd, but contemporary shows by Shania Twain, Pink and Katy Perry all make Maiden’s stuff look like a quaint throwback to a bygone era. Same as KISS - doing the same lame effects like dribbling fake blood and going up on a cable to sing a song … that stuff was groundbreaking in the 70s but to still be doing the same lame schtick in the 2020s … sorry but it’s just lame. Talk about running out of ideas.

I liked the streamlined staging for TFP tour. I think that approach fit the theme rather well. I also liked how they added new elements that they've never done before. I don't know what kind of shows Shania, Perry, and others put on and frankly I don't care. I thought the 2018-19 LOTB tour production was fantastic and if they top that I will be very pleased.

True - so they might do it with multiple screens and it's easier. That's how they can make something spectacular in modern times and something they haven't done before, as Steve mentioned. They can do some interesting stuff with them. I only doubt about showing videos, moving Eddies, why not. They can allow this with their covers, unlike others.

Lol. Just light show/pyro is not elaborate. Maiden shows are still the best. Old but gold. I think they finally liked the LED screens for this tour (and Bruce for his solo tour), so they're going to do something extra special for the big celebration tour. That's it. And they promised it. I think they made the right move with the current tour adjustments after the previous theatrical tour.
If i could choose, I would take big fires, smoke machines, lasers and pyros instead of many led screens. And bigger stage.
It's the classic (old) and best formula for Maiden, but I'm curious what they can do with screens (not just one). Kind of like Priest's current tour but with even more and props. That would be something to see.

Bigger stage? I doubt it, but who knows.

Well said, but ''something they've never done before'' could mean at least some change to the stage layout. But the same old layout is needed for Bruce to sing over the drums.

You could say the same, more or less about some newer material, right. And this is a song from a classic album.
I don't think it's a song the band particularly care for and is very unlikely to be played. It's a shame, because I happen to like the song a lot. It kind of epitomizes the phrase "a fun song". It's not overly serious, has a bit of a cheery attitude and is riddled with cool little guitar bits. When you hear it, you get kinda happy and it makes you bob your head a bit no matter if you want to or not.

I think your right to a certain extent but Maiden, like KISS are a bunch of old men who are doing things they want based on a bygone age.

These legacy acts have been around so long they don’t need to compete with the stage shows put on by young girls more than 3 decades younger.

Let’s face it, if Maiden rocked up on stage wearing jeans, trainers and plain t-shirts and stood in front of a bunch of amps with nothing else on stage and no walk on Eddie they would still sell out arenas. People would still see them. All they need to do now is just please themselves.

The kind of show Maiden puts on is exactly the kind of show I want to see. Perhaps the worst concert I even been to was Styx on the Mr. Roboto tour. They tried to do some kind of Broadway/Theater play/musical type of thing. It was God Awful...

I also don't think Maiden need to radically change the fundamentals of their stage show this late in their career. Modifications like having those screens at the side extending the backdrops on the current tour are welcome changes though. We used to get stage layouts that weren't based on the same skeleton from 2003; some changes like that would be awesome, but I also see why they'd avoid paying the money for that at this stage of their career.

I would leave something recognised as a typical Maiden stage despite all updates. If that was gone in the anniversary year, that would be strange too.
I had hoped that they wouldn't choose so random support acts for the anniversary tour, but something more meaningful, e.g. Blaze Bayley or Accept.
