RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I was certain of Rime until I heard of the theme for the tour, I was expecting there to be a little extra focus on Powerslave.
But do think there is a chanc, it hasn't been played since 2009, and we know Bruce wants to perform it again.

I think steve said they wanted to do an epics tour in an interview. So rime its a classic, they havent played it since 2009 (yes south american leg). And powerslave and aces high they have played a lot since reunion. So 2 minuted and rime its my guess

Hopefully the first Iron Maiden single aka Running Free is gonna be the last song on the set and we`re gonna see p*ssed off Dickinson which a stadium tour requires. Extended drum & bass intro during which he hypes up like this: "Allright you little p*ssies, you know this one eh... drop those f*ckin phones for 5 minutes and let me hear you on the balcony.. oh yeah that`s more like it... allright, let it GO!". Then fo the verses until the crowd pleasing section starts: "We`re f*cking 50 this year and this is all we get? Scream it you lazy *ss m*therf*ckers... I`M RUNNING FREE YEAH!!" etc...

Is it sure that that wasn't just a marketing trick to get Priest headlines, get attention? So much would have to be arranged and agrreed for this and then it was all revised so quickly again and all involved seemed to be fine with all of it. Odd.
The backlash was pretty big, if I recall. They were getting all kinds of heat on their social media.

That exactly would have been the plan: Everybody discussing Priest, but the story has a good ending with the fans satisfied.
And everybody in the band, out , no, wait in the band again remained remarkeably calm.

Maybe I am wrong. I don't know what happened. It just made my wonder because it was all a little strange.

Surely they didn't intentionally create a backlash and piss off their fanbase only to say, "just kidding." The cynic in me says the band didn't want to have to pay Andy to tour with them again.

I didnt remember that they played wasted years during real live tour back in 1993.
Im really tired of this song.
I kinda forgot how fucking awful Bruce was on that tour. What a selfrighteous little cunt to pretend he wasn't just feeling it when he blatantly was phoning it in out of spite. He got off easy, honestly. Davey ran right past him and didn't even give him a friendly prod.

Weirdly wonderful! That was the first tour I went to more than one gig, a tradition that I have kept since, with the exception of The Early Days tour in 2005.
Well, I was slightly diasappointed. Not really disapponted, it's Maiden, so they never disappoint anyway, but I expected something different. I saw them at Donington that tour. The circumstances made it a great day tho. Meetup with the old bulletin board people under the Dunlop Bridge and plent of other great memories.

I was there at Download 03. I also saw them pay Paris Bercy on Give Me Ed.
Great shows but I agree, it was one of the most poorly themed tours... as in, there was no theme and it sounded (and looked) like a Maiden jukebox.

I think the rumbling backlash by some people at the BNW setlist containing so many long latter day songs (which was a setlist they stuck with in 2000, 2001 and for select shows in 2002) led directly to 'Give Me Ed...'.

And I also think since BNW, Maiden have learned to better pace their setlists when they play multiple epics.

It would be cool if they start the show with Trooper. Give the casuals straight what they want and at the same time get it out of the way for hard core fans. And who knows, it might give the song a fresh approach. Definetly would be one of the more unique openers (a la Number of the Beast 2003).
Yeah, I think Trooper as an opener would be cool and a fresh approach, although I doubt they would do it. Or Number Of The Beast again. I wonder how Phantom could work as an opener. But I think the best option is - Be Quick Or Be Dead!
There gonna be at least 2 songs from fotd for sure
This. Plus 1 song from NPFTD.
Murders in the rue morgue or be quick or be dead will be the openers. A few chances for only the good die young or any other weird start like "TNOTB" in 2003
I don't think they will open with Murders.
Songs that would surprise and with " real" chances to be played.
Killers
Only the good die young
To tame a land
Be quick or be dead
Murders in the rue morgue
Infinite dreams
Still life
Rime of the ancient mariner
And i think thats all.
They have covered the whole discography since 2004.
^plus Remember Tomorrow and Boots, I guess. And something from 1990, right.
I think they can't omit Be Quick or Be Dead in the Run for Your Lives-Tour
I like to think so too.

It's the band's biggest epic and they need a centerpiece for the tour, so I don't think the theme plays that much of a role. The other Powerslave song in the set would most likely be 2 Minutes, although I'm fine with only one.
2003 festival setlist was entirely weird, from beginning til end.
Indeed.
And that's probably why it's one of the most uniqe and cool ones imo. No theme, the band wanted to play as much old songs as possible, the tour was used as a great opportunity (especially after the previous tour). Some nice ideas, but the stage set is probably their worst one in terms of the design.
Hopefully the first Iron Maiden single aka Running Free is gonna be the last song on the set...
I really don't want Running Free to be the closer (although it would be fitting), but after current tour's predictable closer...
I prefer Hallowed, Hills second to last.
Run to the Hills will surely be played.
And on the encores, unfortunately. I feel the encores could be like for TEH tour. And that would be tough for Nicko and Bruce.

That was a natural tour to do after a Reunion and a longer break, although they kind of did that with TEH tour. And it was a short one.

BNW tour setlist's flow was very good. They only played 2 epics in a row like during DOD tour, which is normal to happen with Hallowed in the set.

edit: I can understand some of the ''complains'' - but the good number of new songs is always expected with Maiden (which I love), plus they played the classics during the previous tour. The Blaze era was/is not popular and the fans probably expected more of the old classics with Bruce (like Hills or Running; which was really odd about the former), but playing songs from the previous album/s was something common for Maiden back then. Two of the epics in the set were divided by two short and fast rockers (Trooper and Mercenary), while Clansman is a great live song. After the relentless opening of the first 5 sogns, 2 slower and atmospheric songs like Sign and Blood Brothers are normal. Ofc, they could have swapped some spots. Dream Of Mirrors into Clansman was odd, I admit.

The 2022 tour had a weird flow. The first 6 songs.

So good to hear Wasted Years played with a fast intro riff. Janick does a great job with the solo, it fits his melodic and fast playing. Bruce sings a different melody for the song, not cool.

I'm tired of it too (not the studio version), but I think if there's one song from SIT that could be played again - this is it.

Opinions were divided about how well the 2000 setlist flowed, and over what was included / left out.

Like you, I liked it. But the reaction you had was not uniform. There was huge bafflement for many people as to why:

- 20 minutes of Blaze era material was played on Bruce's first major reunion tour (20 mins is a huge %)
- why Dream of Mirrors, Sign of the Cross, Clansman, Blood Brothers weighed down the whole middle of the set
- and of course, casual fans bemoaned the absence of Run to the Hills etc

At least one band member made an indirect comment about this at the time (can't recall the source, too long ago).

The problem some pointed to with the 2000 set was not about consecutive epics - it was about the feel of the entire middle 50 minutes of the set.
