RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

That’s not rotating stuff in and out, that’s deciding something doesn’t work and to try plan B. Most tours have had some minor adjustments near the start. Usually putting Wraithchild back in, unfortunately.
I would consider that as rotating.

According to Wikipedia:
  • "Paschendale" (from Dance of Death, 2003) was played rather than "Dance of Death" in Dallas, San Antonio, Albuquerque, San Bernardino, and Auburn.
Those cities were every other night, so they were rotating those two songs for the first nine dates of the tour.

Why they wanted to try to rotate two of the most complex post reunion songs is still beyond me.

Do it, I don't know, with 2 Minutes and Icarus, and not the 8+ minute epics.

I doubt it went honestly beyond wanting to play both, not being able to decide which they should go with and instead making the call to experiment with rotating the two. I don't really see the inherent issue, since while Paschendale at least initially had problems, it's not like only playing it every other gig somehow makes it harder as long as they've rehearsed the song enough. Which they probably hadn't, but that's on them, not the rotation.

My personal theory is that Dance of Death was a safe pick and Paschendale was one they maybe wanted to play more but wanted to have a backup plan because it wasn't going super well in rehearsals. Since every live version of Paschendale in 2010 was pretty rough while Dance of Death always sounded good, I'm guessing they just gave up on Paschendale and went with the song that they could pull off more consistently. I don't think it was really meant to be a rotation slot as much as it took a few showsa for them to figure out what song worked best in that slot.

I guess I assume that if Paschendale had gone better that first night they would have never swapped it out. I can't really see them keeping a rotation slot open for the entire tour.

They rotated 2 songs back in 2000 for a while as well. I’m sure it was The Mercenary & The Fallen Angel. It only lasted for 6 gigs or so before The Mercenary won out. (Even though they played the Fallen Angel in the encore of the last 3-4 gigs of the BNW Tour).

I have a slight memory of hanging out here during the time when Paschendale/Dance of Death was rotated. I think it was something about some botches in Paschendale during that time before it got shelved during that tour

Think H kept getting lost in the stop start sections

Recently, Maiden have played 3 epics per tour (Red and Black, Book of Souls, Powerslave; Clansman, FTGGOG, Sign of the Cross; Alexander, Celts, Hell on Earth). So what epics might Maiden play RFYL tour?
Phantom seems 95% confirmed, Rime seems also quite possible, so that leaves one more spot. From first 9 albums we have To tame a land, Powerslave, Alexander and Seventh Son. To me most likely seems either Powerslave (again paired with Rime) or Seventh Son. I would like to hear Seventh Son, but Rime and 7th son both are over 10 min long (although Celts and Hell were also over 10 min. And both Rime and 7th have similar calm middle part. I don't know, but it would be cool to have 2 best epics of 80s in one set.

Phantom, Rime and Seventh Son (although two calm middle parts on one tour? good call). Which would be wow.
If not, then To Tame A Land would be my adventurous pick. Alexander could stay even with all 3 epics methinks, while I don't expect Powerslave because it was played fairly recently. These are all not easy songs for Nicko and Bruce.

My first impulse was to say Powerslave, since Aces High probably won't be showing up. Rime, however, I think represents the album pretty well, and I'd say there's a good chance we'll get 2 Minutes back also, since that's been gone for a while.

So, ideally, I'd agree and say To Tame a Land, since that'd be almost the equivalent of bringing Alexander into the set. Most likely scenario is what you have: Phantom, Rime, and Seventh Son, despite the slow bits in two.

I dunno. I just want Only the Good Die Young to show up. And Judas Be My Guide. While the former has a faint glimmer of possibility, the latter has none, methinks.

I think they will play these songs.

-The Ides of March (Instrumental)
-Killers
-Only the Good Die Young
-Die with Your Boots On
-Murders in the Rue Morgue
-Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter
-22 Acacia Avenue
-Wasting Love
-Infinite Dreams
-Heaven Can Wait
-No Prayer for the Dying
-Deja-Vu
-From Here to Eternity
-Fear of the Dark
-Iron Maiden
- Hallowed be thy Name
-Run to the Hills

And I guess they could consider this ones also:
-Phantom Of The Opera
-Running Free
-Purgatory
-Powerslave
-Rime of the Ancient Mariner
-Aces High
-Tailgunner
-Be Quick or Be Dead

I know what I did, I skip Phantom

I don't think they will open with Ides/Killers, most likely Murders in the Rue Morgue with intro on tape. Wrathchild will be played too.

Phantom will be played, it was featured on the tour promo ad.

From Somewhere in Time I think they'll only play one song, since it was already heavily featured on this tour.
My guess is they either they keep Alexander or debut Deja Vu. The Loneliness and Sea of Madness will be too hard on Nicko.

If I wuld have to choose between To Tame a Land, Mariner and Alexander, my pick would be TTAL than Mariner.
I want both To Tame A Land and Rime, can't decide as much as I want a proper live version of the former. That would be epic! It depends on whether Bruce wants to learn those specific lyrics.

It's curious if they will strictly follow the tour's theme and play at least 1 song from each album (and especially after the current tour). At the same time, I don't think they will skip a song from NPFTD this time. It sounds wild, right.
1 song from each album means less room in the set, I think they could/should only skip SIT (next are Killers and NPFTD). Long Distance Runner is very tough (maybe they rehearsed it like Steve said), Sea Of Madness has no chance since it's not on the current tour, and Nicko might work out Deja-Vu but I doubt it's on their list. All are tough songs to play.
