RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Makes me wonder what's causing the strength in sales more -- the 50th anniversary aspect or the fact they've already announced they're only doing old stuff?
All big selling "old" bands and musicians sell really well, cause most of the crowd are casual drunk old farts who listened to their favorite songs from a band in the 80’s, never bothered again, until they either found out that the band are playing in their city, or got free tickets from their job, so they go out to chat with their other casual drunk old fart friends.

I think LOTB would be similar, actually. Maiden probably already was a stadium band in most of Europe, they just didn't book them. Having said that, I think more than the 50th anniversary or the announcement that they're only doing old stuff, people are also realizing we don't have many years left, specially post Nicko's stroke.

The mainstream audience wants to listen to the 80s songs anyway. Even a 14 year old kid that starts listening to metal wants to hear 666 and the Trooper live, not Death of the Celts. It's logical. It's also the anniversary aspect. Also the future past tour and the legacy tour were successes. So, now they sell out faster. I was more hyped to hear live the SIT songs. The new tour will be similar to Legacy, Somewhere back in time, Maiden England. It has to be. I hope for some deep cuts alongside the many classics they will definitely play

If they play Killers and Bring Your Daughter, I'll be totally fine with hearing all the basic trademark songs. However, it'd be very nice if they decided to play Sea of Madness. There's no point in performing Wasted Years or Heaven Can Wait since they're playing them now, so if they want to present any SiT track, SoM would be a perfect choice. I'm not even talking about Deja Vu, but they've never played it, so I doubt they ever will. It's nowhere as legendary as Alexander.

I appreciate those old folk that have served their time and now hang back, they did their dancing and gave bands the energy they deserved and years and gigs take their toll.

What annoys me is the young folk that have refused to take up the batton and make many gigs like a morgue. Its a damn fact that gigs are not as bouncy or shouty as they used to be. Some are but most aren't. If that suits ye then fair play but personally I mourn the loss.

I've thought long and hard about this and I believe that I am correct. Not old, not biased, just right.

Screaming your lungs out and jumping at a metal gig went out of fashion at some point. I didn't get the memo but if I did I'd probably pish on it.

IMO you're going to the wrong gigs for this. Go see a younger metal band play in a smaller venue and you'll see this energy among younger people. The problem with Maiden is that they are a museum piece to a lot of younger audience members. The sterile arena environment doesn't help. I think this has everything to do with being a legacy band playing in a soulless arena than it does with the younger fans.

I get ye and I do go to a range of gigs but the quota of lunatics gets ever smaller even at the local level.

If your town is different then i commed them and I hope it lasts and you enjoy it while it does.

There are good gigs in my town but they are in the minority and I genuinely mourn it and its not the bands, it's the crowds. Boring fucks of all ages.

Maybe I need to leave Belfast ‍:shred:

Maybe this is just a Scandinavian problem, but big event concerts like Maiden, Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Bryan Adams and so on, they are flooded with 55+ year old folks who are basically going out for drinking and talking at these shows, they just stop to talk when they play Run to the hills, Summer of 69, Dancing in the dark:facepalm:

I saw Maiden in Brisbane recently. I was amazed at how many people are more interested in having a conversation and playing on their phones then enjoying the world's best band.
