Get ready to be disappointed!
I won't be disappointed, it's a celebration of 50 years of Maiden and classics. How could I be. I just wish they'll make the set interesting beyond the mandatory classics. Expanding it by 2 songs would help.
For me I would be overjoyed to hear Infinite Dreams and Killers again! And if the production is bigger and better than LotB tour as promised, we are in for a treat.
The stage, yes. As for the songs, for me: Land, No Prayer, Be Quick/Wasting Love, OTGDY, Sea, Killers and Prowler.
We might get Revelations, Children of the Damned, Powerslave or Flight of Icarus to spice things up.
I don't think we'll get any of them, and frankly I'm pretty good with that. 2 Minutes and Evil are stronger candidates, methinks.
The deep cuts for this tour will probably be songs like Rime, Bring Your Daughter, Phantom, Running Free and Clairvoyant. None of those have been played for at least 10 years.
Which is expected and would be nice, I guess. Include Killers (yes, I expect it) and another 80's epic - well, not bad.
I feel really good about Killers showing up. Also holding out for Die With Your Boots On as that is the only POM song that has been played in the reunion era but not in the last 20 years.
This. Boots is also the song they used for their collab with West Ham.
I could probably do without Wasted Years again to be honest.
I'm tired of it. The closer of the final tour should be Iron Maiden, Hallowed, RTTH or it.
No doubt most of the set will consist of the songs listed above, but as it has been for the ~3-4 last tours, I think there is a genuine desire within the band to play a handful of beloved favourites often loved by hardcore fans and casuals alike (e.g Children of the Damned, Revelations, Die With Your Boots On, Powerslave, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Remember Tomorrow, possibly even Killers or something like that) and maaaybe one cut that is a bit more obscure.
Maiden likes to stay in their comfort zone with most things, but I honestly doubt they'd do a 2025-26 world tour with only autopiloting through the most obvious cuts.
Interesting times ahead, as I could totally see them doing their most generic set for 10 years and, on the other hand, just as well continuing with the relatively fresh approach of the past couple of tours.
Agreed.
But yeah, I also agree that expecting some ~5 deep cuts that haven't been played after 1999 is bit of a stretch.
With 3 90's songs is possible. Although they have to do Land and/or Infinite Dreams then - and 80's deep cuts have a
bigger chance.
It remains to be seen if they will play at least 1 song from each album. I doubt it because of SIT, but it makes sense. And with a longer set.
Comparisons with 2008-2009 would be painful…
2008-2009 are peak performances. I think Bruce will deliver solid performances on the tough songs (the encores, let's see; the big classics are for there and the crowd can help with Hills, but he should think about it more. The same can be said for his solo tour last year. Hallowed and Hills are the toughest). Let's hear the drumming, I would say.
