RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

IMO, there is still very little information in which way they will go with the setlist. If this was 2008-2014, it would be very easy to guess. However, after LOTB and especially TFP, everything is a fair game.

We can be sure that the setlist will be at least 50% greatest hits. So Fear, Trooper, TNOTB, RTTH, Iron Maiden and Hallowed are among those. Now, the interesting part is what they do with the remaining 50%. Do they go with classic songs, that aren't neccessarily hits like Rime, they fill those spots with rarities like No Prayer For The Dying, Only The Good Die Young and Infinite Dreams or they split that setlist space half and half.

At this point, I'd say, we'll likely get a 16 song setlist. 8 greatest hits (6 of those are listed above), 5 classic songs that aren't necessarily hits (Rime and Phantom being 2 of them) and 3 deep cuts, one of which was maybe never played before.

What Bruce said in that video was probably about the production and presentation. I predict that the band will deviate from the post GMETID stage setup for the first time too. Also, I'd say more screens and pyro.

And again, I doubt they read this, but, dear band, I know you changed the live drummer, but please, let Aces High lay it's eternal rest. Please. You are almost 70.

IM is the master of weird setlist choices. Everyone thought they would open somewhere back in time with CSIT.

Really? I didn't follow international Maiden forums that much at the time, but most of the speculation I came across had more or less clear consensus on Aces High being the most likely opener, especially since the tour announcement strongly hinted towards Powerslave-heavy set & stage show.

That being said, Caught Somewhere in Time definitely popped up in the speculation too.

For me, a reasonable interpretation of “Setlist for the ages” would be the famous Maiden classics from that period plus something special, i.e. a never-played song.

Stop it! That will motivate Bruce and more recently also Steve to include it in the setlist! :D

Dear band, I confirm that I don't see or hear any difference to 40-50 year old colleagues! So there is ABSOLUTELY NO reason to prove anything by including “Aces High” in the setlist! :D

In my opinion the 3 Number of the beast hits, Trooper, Fear, IM, Rime and Phantom are 100% included. Out of those only Rime is a guess, the rest are pretty obvious. That's 8 songs. They will definitely play a song or 2 from SSOASS (probably Clairvoyant and another one) and another 2 well known songs like 2 minutes, wasted years, wrathchild or whatever. That's 12. So they have 3-4 songs to spice it up. Remember tomorrow is a serious contender. Maybe a Killers song if they don't play Wrathchild, maybe BQOBD, maybe Still Life or To tame a land or both, maybe Infinite dreams or OTGDY. I don't think they will include more than 2 songs (Fear is 1) from the 90s albums.
PS. I love Aces High, but please don't. Just do Moonchild or CSIT again if you don't know with what to open. Imo 666 could be the opener. I don't see another good idea if they don't do Aces, Moonchild, CSIT. I don't want it to be BQORB or Rue Morgue. It could be fun to open with Fear and then do it in a reverse chronological order, but I don't think Fear works for an opener. The IM and Killers songs would be alright for encore though.

I really can’t see Infinite Dreams being played. They must have skipped it in 2012 because of the strain on Bruce’s voice. I can’t see any other reason. Then again I was wrong about CSIT on this tour…

The thing is, after the last few tours, we can't be sure what the approach to this setlist will be. Sure the theme and the stadium shows suggest the usual hits and classics and especially after the last tour, but why not the band to continue to be adventurous with the setlists. Simon would like to play as many different songs as possible, I suppose. Remember that Bruce and Nicko expressed desire to play more rare songs and Bruce is the boss now.
- with around 17 songs, it's very possible to do a set with a good number of ''surprises'' plus the usual hits.

Bruce had in mind the new stage show, but I don't think the tour will be just the usual classics. Something special for the 50th anniv is expected, right. Not only the stage. Like Priest did with theirs. I just don't see them going back to predictable setlists after the latest tours. Full of classics, ofc, but with more than a couple of (popular) deep cuts, despite the theme.

Ok, the 6 big hits are expected - but then for the rest of the set anything is possible, especially if they don't bring back songs like 2 Minutes and Evil. I don't expect rotating songs from a poll of 20+ songs though. Although with multiple screens will be easy, the technical limitations will be gone. *Not the songs with heavy props.

  • ''Setlist for the ages'' is tough to make now and it's ambiguous, but after Alexander, why not another debut of a song or two? The deep cuts (excluding Rime) will be at least 3, like for most of the tours. 6 classics, 5-6 popular cuts (like Rime) and 5 deep cuts. It's possible. Especially if they play more than 15 songs.
  • The phrase could mean a set full of ''multiple epics'', given how Bruce had the thought of playing only epics live in the past? It's a possibility. I mean, what else? And ofc can mean the usual classics too. Nod to the casual fans. TFP was for us. If the next tour is Part 2, that would be for us again. Just thinking. Bruce is hyping as usual.
I'm curious what their approach will be with the 90's albums. More than 2 songs? The opener is also curious. As for the others - songs not played since 2010 is probably what we should expect.
Most likely songs: the 6 big classics, Phantom, Rime and Killers.

All in all, I don't expect something pretty standard and safe. We know their habits with the sets, but we can't be sure with a new drummer now.

Do half predictable classics and half surprises s they haven't played for a long while/songs they've maybe never played
This. This is the best they can do.

Reason? Most likely. Weird setlist choices or not, I think Bruce sings better now. But I think CSIT is an easier song from him than Infinite Dreams because of the saturated vocals. There's not much singing in To Tame A Land, but it's the most difficult one.

Considering how the set could have a fair amount of epics, it remains to bee seen if Bruce will want to add difficult songs like Infinite Dreams, To Tame A Land... not to mention songs from SIT (Sea, Deja-Vu) or Aces High. Most likely Seventh Son will be added, he will do it better methinks. Add to that the not easy Rime, Hallowed and Hills. Be Quick also has his specific singing from the 90's which is not that easy for him, as we can hear even in 1997 live with his debut solo album title track.
The whole set will be tough, so would he want more tough songs, because Infinite and Land are two of the most wanted 80's deep cuts, thus they could be narrowed down along with some other tough ones like Long Distance Runner, Flash Of The Blade...

Also - Would they want to make up for the missed songs during the ME tour? After all, Eddie on the tour poster looks like the one from Infinite Dreams live single.

Infinite Dreams would be quite tough on his voice. If they were going to do songs that the missed from Maiden England, I can see them bringing back Killers. Maybe Still Life and Die With Your Boots On, but they are tough on his voice as well.

If they played it, I would be really happy but watching it partly through a wince.

The whole set won't be easy. Agreed about Killers. Still Life, except for the one high line in the chorus, is not tough and is a popular cut. Boots is tougher. All these songs have a chance, plus some songs from the first 2 albums, 5 candidates from SSOASS, Bruce likes Rime, No Prayer...

I'm curious about Wasting Love, which is one of the most popular 90's songs and certainly not easy for him. What about Sea Of Madness? Any chance? Will Alexander stay? Wasn't there a rumor they rehearsed it before TFP tour? We'll never know, like with Long Distance Runner.
Simon will have roughly zero input on the setlist. He's very much a hired gun at this point.
I know, I had in mind he'd be happy to play any song the band offered. He should be capable, right. Btw, has he ever done long and big tours?

Hopefully the deep cuts are Infinite Dreams, Remember Tomorrow or To Tame a Land and a song that hasn't been played before Deja Vu or Only the Good Die Young.

Yes I'm also the sane though.
Remember the new Eddie at the artwork is the infinite dreams Eddie
