I still haven't listened to the album yet. I am going to wait for the release in one week. I just can't pass up that opportunity.

I stand fast beside you. Gonna listen only after buying it, on next Monday. :edmetal:

It's normal not liking it at first, like I did with AMOLAD (except for DW, BTATS, OOTS and TROBB which I loved right away), but on further listenings, I discovered how amazing is The Pilgrim, The Legacy, These Colours Don't Run and Lord Of Light had been shorted would've been really fantastics tracks, but they're very good anyhow, and others are just very bad arranged like FTGGOG (one of Maiden's lesser songs, alongside TAATG, BYDTTS) and TLD.

Some negative comments about the album are just arrogant, cynical and proposital. Yours not, your impressions are of someone who's a real fan and is disappointed to not loving it as you were expecting. I can only hope the album reveals itself as a great experience as the listenings goes on and on.

I hope you are not talking about me.You must belive me when i say that for me is very sad not like an iron maiden album, ive seen them 10 times and 4 bruce, buy every fucking DVD/CD the first date of the realesed since 1992.

And im talking about feelings,if you love the album for me is good news because is good for maiden.Would not be a good news for me if they dont sell millions of copies of The final frontier. As all you boys and girls im part of the iron maiden family

Here's the fangroup in a nutshell:

1) Fans who piss up a rope when The Trooper isn't played live seventeen years after it was recorded.

2) Posers who flooded the boards to grab a copy but never stuck around to actually talk about it. They better buy the fucking CD.

3) Fans like me who loves new and old and will argue about albums until someone is blue in the face.

4) New fans who are interested in discovering everything Maiden. Hopefully, some of 2 translates into 4.

What group is Miley in?

His wording confused me as well.

I can reject music I don't like pretty instantly.  I also can tell when I hear something special.  But there's a middle category of material that's deeper like (most of) Maiden's post-reunion stuff, that takes me longer to come up with a judgment on.

Take The Legacy for instance.  I hated it at first.  The "long track" that was at the end of the album (thankfully, so I could easily skip it).  Then, one listen, the build up halfway through really caught my ear.  A few months later, the words "strange yellow gas" grabbed my attention and I pored over the lyrics, listening to the tune over and over.  Now it's one of my faves from the record.

I will re-word the question.

Why is it considered by some impossible for others to have determined whether or not they like an album in less than 24 hours?

I talking about you, but I think you didn't read what I wrote correctly. Do it again, please.

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)

Jeff, then why did you want to have a leaked version?

Maybe the secret is not expecting anything but to listen and - most importanty - to understand what's been recorded.

This is the secret but it's difficult to achieve it. I almost did it this time, but it took me many years of expecting as well as more than one month
of wanting-to-lark-to-the-infos/reviews-and-yet-keeping-me-exiled to achieve it.

There's a bit somewhere that sounds straight out of VXI. And half the album sounds like SSOASS. I dunno…

:ok: Yes Virtual XI in some points, I wanted to mention it but I was shy, as I overall hate VXI. I don't see any SS elements though.

And yes. Where The Wild Wind Blows is supposed to be the "apex", but it's really not. The other songs are too good. No Paschendale.

Yeap. The last time I've listened it it seemed to me better, but yet it's too little for such an album's closer.

Well, those are certainly divisions. All those people are fans…just, and I am speaking for myself and not the whole forum….people in 1 and 2 aren't fucking welcome here.

But there is group 5..people who love some albums and don't care for others, but still want to have polite discussions and talk about the group respectively, and can understand why some people like what they don't.

Well, yeah. I'm a fanboy but I can also admit that Virtual XI is a piece of shit.

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)

I like VXI. Quite a lot. It is simple, musically…

Anyway, Where The Wild Wind Blows sounds straight out of VXI with better drumming and Bruce singing. I would not doubt if that's when Steve wrote the track…late 1990s.

What's your point exactly? I wish you made yourself a bit clearer.

You are right sorry!.and you are right,im fucking disappointed of not liking the album and nailed the situation. :ok:

If I may though, I truly like how respectful this board is when it comes to discussing this sort of stuff.  It's a far cry from MFU where I used to be.

I just can't wait to join in next week.  By that time I'm sure there will be loads of "Maiden needs to do this on their NEXT album" threads to delve into.

And do it very well I might add.

I just hope you all aren't sick of talking about the new songs next week.  Can't wait for my first listen.  I'm old school that way.

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)

I'm still waiting to be crucified for saying WTWWB sounds like it's from VXI.

Meaning I find redeeming qualities in everything Maiden and I find the least amount of them on Virtual XI. Its boring, uninspired, nowhere close to the X-Factor and the least played album by me right along with No Prayer.

It sounds a bit like VXI,and the mand who would be king sound too.The alchemist sounds a bit too, theres a lot of dance of death but a bit of virtual Xi.I liked a bit Virtual, but i prefer X factor of blaze era.

I said the sample was a classic already and it sounded straight from TXF. Now, you're saying VXI...well, then it gets me really excited to listen to it and perhaps an eye opener on how great VXI is for those who despise it.
