Official thread for Final Frontier discussion

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier-The countdown is on! 10 days!

I read some interesting things in an interview today. I'd like to translate a few things (probably later this week).
Question:

This concerns info about a few songs of the new album. Should I use spoiler tags or isn't that necessary?
Thanks!

Since it seems that everyone is putting interviews in the other thread, maybe you should put it there and they are all using spoilers.

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier-The countdown is on! 9 days!

Thanks. I will use spoilers.

But because some of these things are song related, I rather split it up in a few parts, and use the "song-topics" on this Commentary section.

According to multiple posts on the paid board, there will be no physical singles released.

I hope this is not the case, I understand that physical single are pretty much dead, but I was hoping Maiden would continue on the tradition.

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier-The countdown is on! 9 days!

AC/DC still releases physical singles, in fact Rock N Roll Train was only physically sold as a vinyl.

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier-The countdown is on! 9 days!

True and the full TFF album has a physical release including vinyl so why not the singles?

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier-The countdown is on! Just 1 week!!!

Exactly, I think there is a market for it.  I ordered the Vinyl of TFF (will pick up the CD too for car use and to get the game), but would love to have the singles on vinyl

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier-Entire album has LEAKED!!!!!!

I just listened to the album for the first time and I have to say that I'm not really thrilled.

I don't like what Shirley did because Bruce's voice at times seems too loud in respect to the instrumentation. Solos - the only really inspired solo is the first one in When The Wiild Wind Blows (I think it's Adrian's, not sure), the rest I haven't really noticed anything standing out.

I hope that during the second listen the album will grow on me.

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier-Entire album has LEAKED!!!!!!

I don't like the first two tracks, but everything after that was brilliant. The album isn't as progressive as it was made out to be, but it hit several emotional highs throughout. Bruce's vocals were exceptionally good. The vocal melodies will undoubtedly be fan favourites.

The only thing lacking is some inspired solo's. There is nothing on the album of the quality of a 'Blood Brothers', 'Pashendale', 'Hallowed be thy Name' or 'Afraid to Shoot Strangers' solo, but in general, the album is brilliant.

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier-Entire album has LEAKED!!!!!!

I don't think Bruce's performance is all that good.

I think the production makes his voice louder in certain sections than it needs to be. After hearing El Dorado before launch, I was worried that the production on this album would be bad. Its not great, but its not awful.

If you consider the melodies and amount of lyrics has to deliver in some of the songs (some of the melodies are quite hard), I think he's done brilliant. There is not another singer his age that's active at the moment that could do that.

My appreciation for the record almost doubled on the second listen through.  Definitely a grower like AMOLAD... but in a different way.

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)

It's a bit early to make a full review but I can safely state a few things :

1. I absolutely love this direction that Maiden took, riff based music /changes in the sound of guitars & soloing it was somehow what I wished
2. This album is a grower in a way that no BNW, DOD or AMOLAD have been. In every listen it gets better and I am in the 5th right now.
3. Isle of Avalon -Starblind- The Talisman is the peak of the record, difficult to choose which one I like the most.

I'm starting to think from Coming Home until the end of the album it doesn't peak, it just never lets up.

I see exactly what you mean. I think that in the last song we have a small decline. Not that is a bad song, but definitely not what Legacy was for AMOLAD.

Haha, at the very least we can agree that the album is mighty fine.

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)

We can agree from now, I absolutely love this album  ;)

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)

From a technical aspect….absolutely.
