I haven't watched any Season 2. I re-watched S1 to try to get myself in the mood, but it just made me move from "not being sure about Discovery" towards "actively hating Discovery".
I was pretty iffy on season 1 .. some good .. some bad (virtually all the Klingon stuff) ... but I will say season 2 has been pretty damned good. You should give it a shot.
I watched the screener for the DS9 documentary, it was quite good. It is hard to jam 7 seasons and so many characters into a 2 hour doc, but I think they did a good job. Looking forward to the DVD and ideally extended interviews
Trivia question unless it's been discussed here: Does anyone know what Star Trek and Lucille Ball have in common?
In 1965, the pilot of Star Trek was shown to NBC and they did not like it. Lucille like it though. So much that she got a different cast together and made another pilot which NBC also liked. And that cast was the one we all know and love.

Just starting Episode 10 of DIS Season 2, and I think this season is leaps and bounds ahead of the first. I was really concerned about Pike being in this, but Anson Mount knocked it out of the fucking park, and he is one of the most charismatic captains Star Trek has ever had. It's far more "Star Trek" than the previous season. Still a little too much Alex Kurtzman action stuff, but otherwise, a pretty good season so far.
That mystery girl is some sort of Borg. But I think it's more than that - I wonder if Picard got spermjacked when he was Locutus and eventually they decided to make a drone out of his DNA?
Is he chatting with Admiral Nechayev? It really looks like her.
Romulans experimenting on Borg? Interesting. This is set in the post-destruction of Romulus era that initiated the Abramsverse so there's a lot of interesting possibilities here.
Wait, was that Hugh?
New crew looks really interesting. Hopefully Seven of Nine is a full-time character. Not sure how I feel about Data, they clearly CG'd the shit out of Brent Spiner, and I'm pretty fine with that. Frakes and Sirtis have roles as well in the new show. So...we will see.
Rewatching select episodes of Enterprise on Netflix which led me to look up Jolene Blalock on Wikipedia; didn't know she's married to CEO of Live Nation! No wonder haven't seen her in much lately (she doesn't exactly need the $)

I have watched the first episode of Star Trek: Picard.
Spoiler-free: Jean-Luc Picard is back in a way he hasn't been since he joined the poker game on the Enterprise-D. Patrick Stewart has brought the gravitas and force of morality back to the character. He is a scarred and wounded man who is returning to his old self, and it's awesome to watch.
Spoilers:
Wow, this is good. Dahj is somewhat who I thought her to be. The facial/hair similarities to Lal are paid off instantly as she is actually an android made of flesh and blood - a synthetic (a replicant). The people hunting her are Romulans, one of which had a weird genetic modification. And they kill Dahj in the first episode. She seems to be Bruce Maddox's daughter, built from the positronic neurons of B4. It's really, really engaging and interesting so far on that front. Picard's failure to command the "little ships" to rescue Romulans cuts him gravely, even if he has given refuge to some Romulans on his vineyard. And the ban on synthetic humanoids bothers him greatly as well, which came from a terrorist attack that destroyed Mars and Utopia Planita.

Cool, did not read the spoiler part .. planning on watching this tonight. One question, did you watch the "Children of Mars" short and if so, did it add anything to the story of the 1st episode?
