They just won't go away.

Notice how they keep Pierre McGuire in that little box between the benches during broadcasts?  I have an idea for a name for that segment. It's called "The Tool Box with Pierre McGuire!"

A friend of mine on Twitter is a Columbus Blue Jackets fan. She said "I knew they should have used a safeword. Hardcore Hockey was a terrible slogan for CBJ".

I said "Yep, and the safeword should be golf."

Now all 4 CBJ fans are mad at me.

Anyone watching NCAA hockey? Do you like it, or just feel its inferior and only watch NHL?  I'm watching ND vs Deluth, and its an ok game.

I would watch NCAA if we had a good team LOL. Outside of the Beanpot and other major EASTERN tourneys... nope, don't watch, don't care. I know LC watches everything from Pee Wee to pro lol

Don't really get a chance to watch NCAA hockey in southwest Canada, but the few games I have seen seemed worthwhile.
And not a good night for the Rangers. Die Canes! DIEEEEE!!!!!!

I really don't get a chance to see it, sadly. The games I have seen, especially Frozen Four, are fantastic.

Yep, that's what I was watching tonite.  I had to leave for the youngest's play with 7 min to go.  I'll have to look up the score, but Duluth was leading at the time.

Looked like pretty good hockey, so I enjoyed.

Do you think that knowing the players better makes the NHL more interesting?  I know that when I really start to know the athletes, I start to get far more into it.

Definitely. Gives you a better picture of the characters, the back story and the expectations  and, therefore, the drama.

Well, if Montreal plays Boston in the first round, it'd help to understand why the entire city of Montreal would like to see Zdeno Chara lynched.

When I lived in San Diego, USIU (US International University -- now defunct) was purchased by Arab intersts and for some reason they were huge Hockey fans and pumped a ton of money into the program, they had a nice 5 years run.  You could get into the game for $3 and stand right next to the glass, so I went to a ton of those games.

Now living in Dallas, beyond going to the occasional Stars game, there is a Junior League and a CHL team nearby, I got catch them as well a few times a year.  Certainly a level below the NHL, buut still fun to watch and I can generally purchase a seat much closer to the action (last Junior League game was $10, included a hot dog and a coke and we sat right behind the penalty box).

In town, it's Junior B action or CIS action. And I can't stand going to games on campus anymore. Simply not fun for me at all. I want to get to see a real NHL game one of these days.

Why haven't you been to one as of late? I hate the fact I missed the Penguins when they came to PHX. The ONE good thing about the 'Yotes, you see all the OTHER teams lol.

I'm hoping for the hawks and rangers to make it in...

I've only had the chance to see one game, the Blues, in St L many years ago.

I love to watch hockey, but just don't see it often.  I've lost track of the players and really need to get back into the groove!  I'm gonna have to stream more.
