I keep hearing about this band called "Alter Bridge" and I've never heard them. Mentally I picture them as a band like "Daughtry" and I've no idea why. Do they good music? Or is it just what constitutes radio-metal these days like Five-Finger Deathpunch or something?

Also Gojira live is a force of nature. Seen them three times and they never disappoint.

Edit: Holy Shit, British Lion is also playing the same festival? That's neat!

@Ariana will I'm sure be happy to say a word or two about this band called "Alter Bridge".

I recommend you check out 'Cry of Achilles', 'Blackbird' and 'Poison In Your Veins' by them.

I see Steve has sneaked in on Friday at Download too. Currently there are two bands I'd see on the Saturday. Two more might make a difference, but otherwise it's still 'nope' to Donington.

For anyone who is planning to or thinking of attending Download Festival next year to see Iron Maiden, a load more bands have been announced with apparent day splits. Gojira and Killswitch Engage on the Saturday is very promising with some significant slots still to be filled. It looks very likely that Alter Bridge will slot into the subheadline slot on the Saturday.

It is great to see Gojira playing on the Saturday. :)

Edit: Having The Wildhearts playing on the Saturday is a nice bonus too!

Holy shit. Guys, I just remembered that Sabaton have their Wembley Arena show in February and could end up at Download too. Just imagine Iron Maiden, Alter Bridge, Sabaton and Gojira on the same day. o_O

There's another gap between Japan and UAE but we won't know if they add another date until January
…And another one between Israel and Finland in June
Oh I forget to say that it could be a second Paris show because there's a gap after the 1st show

Gap for 2 more concerts...rumour is that gap between Tel Aviv and Finland could be filled with Belgrade concert (last played in 2014) and I'm hoping for my hometown Ljubljana concert (last played in 2007), maybe Bucarest (Maiden didn't play Bucarest on LOTB tour yet) or Budapest. Who knows, maybe they will play for the first time in Skopje in Macedonia. Dates for these 2 concerts could be 1.june and 3.june. That's just my guess, nothing else.

According to ironmaidenitalia.com Maiden has sold over 100.000 tickets for their 4 dates in Germany:

To date:
around 20000 tickets of 25000 have been sold in Bremen
more than 30.000 tickets on a capacity of 40.000 have been sold in Cologne
For the Sttutgart concert over 40,000 tickets were sold on a total capacity of 43,000.
And for the Berlin concert over 10.000 tickets sold (Waldbühne capacity is around 20.000) 50%
