Now Playing (Video Games)

I won't be there day one, but I'll definitely get one in time for Metroid Prime's release. Echoes is one of my favorite games of all time and it's been too long since 3.

Some French retailers are listing the console and games for 20€ less than the official price. Might get one there, since the console isn't region locked (well, except the Japanese one).

Mario Kart World looks good enough that I am happy to be a day one adopter, and the free Switch Online upgrades to Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom (the former of which I haven't played for the best part of a decade now) are another welcome incentive. The price of games is definitely eye watering, though.

I've 100%ed the Zeldas and have no desire to go back any time soon. MK World looks awesome though and I hope there's some interesting stuff/secrets in the open world.

DK Bananza looks really fun too. The prices are hard to swallow, but the first party offerings so far are amazing for the first 6 months of the console.

Since we have a relatively new OLED Switch 1, I'm probably going to wait a bit and then exchange (I haven't been following the news closely but I really hope there's backward compatibility, if not then I'll probably wait yet longer).

Backwards compatibility has been confirmed for almost all games, which likely all means all bar those requiring niche accessories like Ring Fit Adventure.

Even those will be playable as long as you connect Switch 1 controllers. There are some with technical difficulties that haven't been figured out yet though.

Good. I was most concerned about the absolutely biggest flex of the original - fitting the entirety of Witcher 3 + its DLCs on one cartridge, lol (and with less bugs than on Xbox to boot!)

Last night I was looking at my massive backlog and noticed I had put off Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2. I was having a hard time with normal (veteran) difficulty, so I brought it down to easy and got through quite a bit. I might finish it in the next few days, that way I can try and tackle Blasphemous 2 or give Inscription another shot. I'll make my way to Alan Wake 2 at some point.

Just finished OG Diablo for the first time, now playing Diablo II: Resurrected.
Oh man, when I was a teen I played the hell out of Diablo! My brother and I sunk hundreds of hours in that game as well as Warcraft II and StarCraft. Man, the days Blizzard could do no wrong. Diablo II was cool and all, but there was something special about the first game.

Update on Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2. I finished the game only to find there's more game! and I'm not talking about extra endgame content or unlocks with replayability. I mean a new game opens up storywise. Gamplay is the same and you run through the same levels, same bosses, but with slight changes.
At the end of the game, one of your companions gets captured as they sacrifice themselves to save the rest. You run through the game again to rescue them with the other three characters. THEN you FAIL to rescue them and the other two companions are too injured to continue the journey so you are joined by the ORIGINAL cast of the first game! This is cool because you are tackling the new bosses with old mechanics and you have to adjust your strategy when fighting bosses.
I'm very curious as to where the rest of the game will go. I was plodding through it kinda like, same shit different smell, until that point in the game and now I'm very excited as to what will happen next. A very pleasant surprise.

Still not done with the Castlevania expansion in Vampire Survivors and they dropped another update. I took a look, another Adventure, achievements and unlockable characters. Love this game, gift that keeps on giving, best US$2.50 I've ever spent.
