Strings don't really work like that. They'll last as long as you don't break them, but after awhile they become more frail and easier to break. I played a guitar once with strings that probably hadn't been changed since the factory and I felt like I was playing spaghetti noodles. They just sound and feel bad.

What Mosh said. They just sound worse and aren't as smooth on your fingers as new ones. But as long as I don't find a guitar place here, they'll do.

Also inconvenient that I don't know how to replace strings myself so I'd have to bring the guitars to the guitar place.
 
Yes, a Youtube video is enough to learn it. I mean, I learned how to change 'em on a Floyd Rose from Youtube and I have never actually changed them on a stop tail :p. But I've heard it's much less hassle.

Also, maybe we should start to consider renaming this thread to something guitar string related?
 
Ugh, Floyd Rose... Once I had a beautiful Japanese Charvel So-Cal (looked like Adrian's signature), but had to sell it because changing strings and maintaining this bridge was a torture.

I'm sure it is but as I said, the actual problem is that I've yet to find a guitar place since moving to Ankara.

With the current exchange rates for the Turkish Lira, I'd rather avoid international shipping. The shipping payment would likely cost more than the set of strings themselves.

Welp, I was a noob when I still used the green one, and I occasionally let some guys in the music store change them.

Floyds can be a pain in the arse but there are things you just can't do without a floating trem. The ups and downs balance out.

Not for everyone. ;) I don't need whammy bar effects in the music that I play and I'm not good at technical procedures like FR setup... I like to keep things simple, so switching to hardtail was a good move. I love my current guitar, days of GAS seem to be over for me. :P
 
Stability sure is a good thing in a guitar. I like the vibrato possibilities and the occasional dive bomb though. What's GAS?
 
I'm looking at Maiden's 1979 tours, and Maverick has them divided into the random gigs, and an actual UK tour that took them around England and Wales, but other sites don't make that distinction. Did Maiden have an actual "1979 UK Tour"?

Ah, I see and understand. I don't play guitar. Just trying to keep posts going here. :)
 
So I have this external hard drive that I always move between laptop and TV... lately whenever I connect it to the laptop it said "Scan and fix" so I finally clicked it today... something went on for a while and it looks to have finished and it somehow freed up 40 more GB O.o It doesn't seem to have deleted any of the files though, so does anyone where those 40 GB came from?
