How much more use do you think you can get out of them?I haven't changed the strings on any of my guitars for over a year now. They definitely sound cheaper.
I went from 9-42 to 9-46 to 10-46. I like the latter the most for the slightly improved tuning stability and fatter tone. Not a massive difference though, just down to preferences. I agree on the chunky low end.I've used hybrid strings forever, basically meaning 10s on the 3 lower strings, 9s on the three higher strings, and I love them. Gives you a nice chunky bottom end and a lot of maneuverability and action on the high end.
That doesn't sound fun.
