Strings don't really work like that. They'll last as long as you don't break them, but after awhile they become more frail and easier to break. I played a guitar once with strings that probably hadn't been changed since the factory and I felt like I was playing spaghetti noodles. They just sound and feel bad.
				
			
	
 Could you get a very cheap set on Ebay to practice with?
. But I've heard it's much less hassle.
	
 I appreciate the effort, I already know a couple of sites to get strings from.
 It's when you want a new guitar all the time.
