Ariana, news like yours always makes me sad, even though I know in some situations it's actually for the better. Guess I'm a romantic at heart.
Loving the name talk.
My youngest is Danica because she was born at dawn. I think it's a fairly common name in Europe, but more unusual here.
She still sometimes tells me she's my little morning star.
 
Danica is a pretty name too.
My husband and I often talk about baby names but I think we've decided what we want to stick with when the time comes. For a girl, we like Amelia and for a boy, Liam.
 
I also love the name talk, one of my favorite things to talk about, actually. :D Though I think the names that are common here in Turkey wouldn't sound familiar to you, since well, most names are religious and there's a religion difference in culture. Also, Turkish people mostly interacted with Asians (Turks first appeared on the Middle Asia then moved to Anatolia in 1071, then with Seljuk Empire and Ottoman Empire, to Europe.) and Arabic nations.

However I'll tell you about my name. It's a variation of the name of the second son of Genghis Khan, Chagatai Khan. Chagatai Khanate was a Turko-Mongol khanate that was found in Middle Asia, so my name is pure good ol' Turkish. :bigsmile:
 
Flash, with a name like that to these western ears, you definitely sound like you should be sweeping across the plains :D.
Moonchild, Amelia is sweet and strong, Liam smart and edgy. I like. Are you considering kids soon (if you don't mind me asking?)

Oh, I also checked with my wife on the allergy medication.
Right now she has a counter drug called Aerius and a homeopathic remedy called Pollinosan.
She also uses a nasal wash at times that helps.
But she swears by none of them. No miracle cure here.

Thanks. :) We've been talking about it. We really haven't decided yet on when we want to start trying. He was saying next year but I'm not sure if I'm quite ready that soon. He doesn't want to wait too late and neither do I so maybe within the next year or 2.

I like the name Amelia a lot.
I'm glad I have a daughter because I have lots of favourite female names but I'd be struggling with male names. Besides Teodora, we were also considering Magdalena.

Danica is also very pretty. We have a variant of that name - Denitsa, it also means morning star.
 
That was the problem with us trying to figure out girl names because there are so many we liked and we kept changing it around until we both decided to stick with Amelia. I've always liked the name Liam and when I mentioned it, he liked it too so that was easy enough.

The sister of my wife has a 4 year old called Amelia (and the 2nd daughter is on her way, with only one or two weeks to go).
 
I'm glad my mom didn't take the circumstances around my birth into account when choosing my name because I was born in an ambulance. :lol:

Well my name is written as Çağatay, so it features two letters which are not a part of the western alphabets. I don't have a clue how you guys would pronounce it, either. :D

By the way it means young horse, I believe.
 
We had a few names we liked. I was leaning to Danica, but we hadn't decided.
After a night of labour the sun was peeking through the window as we were holding her for the first time.
I want to say we could see the morning star, but I suspect that's a memory coloured by time and wishful thinking.
We looked at each other and said "guess it has to be Danica."
And a weird coincidence — she has always been at her best in the mornings, bright, cheerful, ready-to-go. (Other times, maybe a different story ;))
 
I have a close friend whose mother is still bitter his daughter (her oldest grandchild) wasn't named after her. She's 19.
I want to say there are no pressures like that in my family, but both my grandfathers were John.
As the eldest grandson, guess what my name is? :D

BTW, my name is Magnus, which is a quite popular name in Norway, but has not been used much in the family before. I think it hit a peak in popularity around 1980 after the then Crown Prince of Norway (the current King Harald V) named his son Haakon Magnus.

My brother's name Jørgen was given him in order to succeed a series of names starting with J: My father's name is Jon, his father's name was Jacob and his father's name was Johan.

My Grandfather was John, my dad is Jack and his brothers are Jim, Joe and Jeorge (OK, George). Two of the boys married Joans and another married a Jane.
There is something seriously wrong there.
