Idk guys, my dad is 48 and he understands memes. He even has an instagram account too. I know others personally in this age group that are similar.

Maybe it's a regional thing.

It's not about age. We all understand memes. Just sometimes we (old people on the forum) don't like some memes or we don't get specific memes. And mostly, we sometimes mind a string of random memes that are posted just for the sake of posting memes.

Plus, we have a lot of users in their teens and early 20s but they don't post memes all the time. You are one of them, you should know that.

I highly doubt @Diesel 11 posts memes just for the sake of posting memes. He just collects a bunch of stuff that he finds funny and wants to share and posts them all in one go.

It doesn't bother me that you guys think it's spam and don't like it, but I also don't like the idea of quiting it altogether. I love memes, and when I find strings and strings of it it just cheers me up.

Just keep them separated, put the FUNNY / RANDOM / WEIRD Pictures thread back on track, and use the meme thread the way it's intended to be used.
 
Let's make something completely clear.

1) We closed the Funny pictures thread because two members were fighting with each other.

2) We closed the Meme thread as we determine whether or not such a thread is needed.

Any other assumptions are incorrect.

From where I am it seemed as though certain users here didn’t understand the memes. And you’re right, I don’t ever post memes here, mainly that’s an activity I reserve for sharing with my friends.

This whole thing is ridiculous though. Both sides of the argument have flaws in my mind.

That's not the impression I got from you earlier. We may very well ask that memedumping either a) stop, or b) be relegated to a meme thread. Instead, I saw you make a series of comments indicating that the argument was uncivil.

We closed the thread temporarily to block some uncivil discussion. Since then, aside from occasional Churchilling by @phantomoftheicarus, the discourse was civil. We will likely have a decision in place by EOD Friday.
