Lucky you.Looks like I’ve slept through the meme wars today.
How is this conversation aggressive? I really don't think anybody is trying to attack anybody here, at least at the moment. Is it possible that you are angry and read too much into everybody's posts? This isn't a constructive conversation. It's an aggressive discussion that is quickly escalating into a fight. An I'm not talking about the anti-meme squad only, I'm talking about everybody involved.
On the contrary. I'm not angry at all.Is it possible that you are angry
It is a good outcome, of course, but it was achieved in all the wrong ways.
On the aggression part, yes, I was talking about last night. Sorry if I didn't make that clearer.Sorry, I didn't realize you were talking about the events from last night. I thought you meant the current discussion.
That wasn't exactly what I meant. I was referring to the threads being closed without the discussion even happening.Since the misunderstanding was going on at the time, I don't think there was a good way available to achieve it. I can't go up to someone and say, "I am misunderstanding you" when I don't know I am misunderstanding them.

No. A meme is something that's stripped of its original context and applied to other types of situations. For a meme to happen, it needs to be a recurring joke.Basically any image that someone finds funny is a meme.
When I first encountered memes about 8 years ago they were much simpler and to the point. Just a picture with text at the bottom and top. Even before that it was just pictures of owls exchanging brief exclamations in l33t. Memes are not as funny as they used to be. Basically any image that someone finds funny is a meme. I don't know what constitutes a meme and I would prefer if nobody got into that for us here.

The answer is mimicry. Drills rotate rapidly in a radius. It's funny because the blurring mimics the function, whether or not you've thought that deep into it.
That's why I suggest keeping both threads. It's been already established that the problem is that it's a generational conflict, so why not split it up? All of this goes away.I won't post any memes again
That was the point. I said "a couple of examples".You do realize you've just posted two "now" memes, right?
Amen. The problem is really quantity though. If you guys want to post memes in the picture thread that’s fine, but dumping a bunch at a time is really not cool and is too spammy even for that subforum. You have to respect that this is an established community and that there are other websites that are more appropriate for that sort of thing.
Quantity will always be a problem though. I maintain my suggestion to keep both threads open. It is intended to be a meme dump anyway, so, if anything, it'll keep that type of spam from spreading to other parts of the forum. The problem is really quantity though. The word meme is a silly sounding word. It sounds like "memmen" which is an alternative for tits in Dutch.
