Ah, Gal Gadot. And Zoey Deutch, Natalie Portman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Conelly, Lauren Cohan, Lisa Edelstein, Kat Dennings, Maggie Siff, Rena Sofer, Lauren Bacall, Alison Brie...

The chosen people are the chosen people, indeed. :ninja:

I don't understand why they can't just make a sequel of Buffy? They could use some of the same actors (at least Alyson Hannigan as a Watcher or something) and just introduce new young characters and a new young slayer. No need to remake the whole thing.
Yeah, I agree. Plus you could have Giles come back then as a badass motherfucker. At the risk of being a Buffy nerd, this is a lot harder with the way they changed the story at the end of Season 7 and further in the comics (bonus in the comics, Buffy nails a chick at one point, to tie back to the Xena conversation).

...Rachel Weisz, Milla Jovovich, Anne Hathaway, Emilia Clarke + the ones whose names I don’t know...

I would seriously watch an entire series called "Rupert Giles: Badass Motherfucker" that was just a series of completely unrelated incidents for 40 mins before Giles shows up like a badass motherfucker and lays down the wise, yet strong magical hammer.

Let's just ignore that the comics exist. I read Season 8 and....yeeeeeech.

My favourite part of all Buffy (and consequently my least favourite part) was when Giles showed up to magic-fight Evil Willow. Like, the exact moment when he comes through the door. The fact that he got his shit caved in by Willow greatly disappointed me.

@bearfan I recall you said you had 666 points in your hotel loyalty account remaining, and also something like your flights cost $666. Well I just worked out that including tickets, flights, trains, buses and hotels, my Maiden/Maiden/Bloodstock trip costs about £660. I'm rounding that to £666.

The Giles Files!

Same here. I remember watching that live and to this day it is the only time a TV show or movie has made me physically jump out of my seat.

The Giles Files!

Please!

The boyfriend used to know a gamer called Buffy, during his LARPing days. The letters apparently stood for Big Ugly Fat F***ing Yobbo :D.

TV Tropes started as a Buffy web. Which almost made me go and watch it, but we got through the first two episodes at best. Sorry.
Skip the first season. It's truly dreadful - Buffy gets much better starting in Season 2.

Indeed. Season 1 is horribly entrenched in bad 90s/b-movie schlock + mired by a low budget. It seriously improves in Season 2 and specifically 3. Angel, the spinoff, is also great and much darker/less cutesy.

If you skip season 2, you skip Jenny Carpenter, though - one of the most shocking moments in the show (the most shocking being Tara's fate, of course).
