I think the Superbowl is generally considered to be "The Big Game" because of all the advertising and the money involved. it is the single biggest sporting event in the world. And it can't be anything but the Superbowl...No Hockey season this year, Basketball playoffs doesn't start until April and Baseball season is already over. So unless this is a ticket to some local event....

"The Game" is relative to sport and fandom .. though generally it is football since the other sports (Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, etc) play series instead of single games to decide championships.

I think the Champions League Final surpassed Superbowl a couple of years ago in terms of viewers.

Might be true. Champions League is mainly an event followed by all Europe and it also attracts many followers in South America and Asia while Superbowl is only popular in North America.

The Superbowl does get a lot of TV coverage in the UK and a lot of people watch it, but the people who follow American football all year are in the minority. The Champions League is followed from the start and is massive in Africa (most Africans support Barcelona, Manchester United or Chelsea) as well.

I think European football is boring. But Yes I guess the Champions league final and the Euro cup final is watched by more people than the Superbowl.

I follow the NFL season throughout because I've purchased NFL Game pass, which lets me watch all games every week whenever and as many times as I want. I don't have to sit up late and choose between the two games the TV stations here choose to play.

There's no such thing as European football, it's football. :p

It's boring when you watch a match between two boring teams, as simple as that. A game between, say, Barcelona and Real Madrid can never be boring. Many Americans say that nothing ever happens in football and that's why they dislike it, but it's the expectation of something to happen that makes football special in the first place.

Football can be boring when two very good sides cancel each other out. I remember Italian Serie A matches being very low-scoring. Even if you could admire the skill that went into keeping it that way, it's much more interesting to see goals and good chances.
Or it can also be boring because you're watching two lacklustre sides who can't be arsed on a rainy wet afternoon in Sunderland...

I don't think football is boring when they are no or few goals. There's so much more to it. I've seen great matches with no goals.
Italian football got me hooked to the game when I was ten. Been a fan ever since and not even once been bored by Serie A.

People say that about baseball as well, that it is boring. It is really not boring to me at all, even a 1-0 game, because there are so many nuances going on. I love baseball because I played it and took the time to understand all that. I never did (and probably never will) with soccer ..so I think it is boring :) Even though I can understand how it could not be boring. Baseball, football, hockey, and some occasional basketball really suck up enough time, I really do not need to add another sport.
