Fredrikstad? A friend is going up there, to check out the life and hopefully to get a job. She's a chemical engineer.

This track is bloody awesome:
Apparently, they were roadies for Celtic Frost. Which in no way at all would of had any influence whatsoever on Broder's singing style.

That said, I've been a casual fan of Coroner for decades. Even more so than 'Frost (who I do rate also).

I just made chili for the slowcooker. Here's what I used:

1 can of crushed tomatoes
1 can of diced tomatoes
1 can of corn, drained
1 can of kidney beans (doing again, I'd use 2)
1 cup (250 ml) of water
1 lb (0.45 kg) of hamburger, browned

spices to taste, I used chili powder, cayenne pepper, crushed red chili, oregano, ground mustard, worchestershire sauce (a dash for zing) and freshly ground black pepper.

The whole country (Netherlands) is waiting..... around 8 pm (that's a couple of minutes from now) we'll know if there will be another Elfstedentocht (Eleven Cities Tour). If so, you'll see me making a topic about this rare sport event. If not; you'll find me commenting on it here.

edit:
Bummer! It won't happen. It would have been the first since 1997, but unfortunately the ice is not thick enough on parts of the route (ought to be 15 cm). In case people wonder what this Tour is about, more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elfstedentocht

I see the modern, "official" version of it has only been arranged 15 times since 1909 ...

Have you considered participating yourself, should it happen any winter soon?

.....and the last 4 editions were in 1963, 1985, 1986 and 1997. So you can imagine how it would be after all these years. :)

This Sunday thaw enters....

By the way, there is a tiny chance it could still happen in case it might freeze again in a few weeks, but this is highly uncertain and I don't think anyone has serious hopes.

Must admit I am not much of a skater myself. My uncle took part in both eighties editions if not mistaken. I remember at least one occasion, when I noticed his excitement before going.

There are days when I just want to take the whole world and pitch it in a trash can. Today is one of those days.

A lot of little things. You know how there's always things that don't seem like much in themselves, but stack up to a huge pile, piece by piece? And then there's always this one thing too much and you start asking yourself why you are putting up with all that shit... and you notice you've gotten used to not getting any sort of positive appreciation for the things you do, and when you do something wrong once, just once, the flak gets disproportionately heavy, and you think nothing of it because that's just how things are and it's no use getting worked up about something you can't change. Well, that and a lot of other, little things.

Hmm, can't judge what exactly happened but if people don't show you any appreciation, take all you do for granted, and now suddenly they are very negative because you do something wrong for once, I can imagine that feels unfair. What if you'd speak openly about it and tell the person(s) you don't like this. Even if you think you can't change it, perhaps it still relieves you to utter it? In any case, let's hope circumstances will change for the better. If not, I hope you'll find some distraction to move your mind, mate.

♫I want some milk. My coffee grows cold. I wish I had some goddamn milk. Too bad the milkman never came. I wish I had some goddamn milk. My Cheerios just aint the same♫

All too often. Hope things turn for the better for you, maybe meet a cute metal chick at a bar with a nose ring and a Maiden tattoo who is more than happy to show you her place.

I felt an urge to play air combat games again. I was keen on Lock On and Il-2 Sturmovik 4-5 years ago. A friend borrowed me (for an extended period of time) CH Combatstick, which is a fascinating piece of equipment. CHC is a hard plastic official replica of the stick from F-16. Anyways, had to return it. But today I bought some Saitek for 50eur, it's above cheap-shit class, but not too above. All dandy, futuristic, full of buttons and stuff, but its build quality and mechanical characteristics are far below CHC. Looking forward to trying newer versions of mentioned games, this time on 24" widescreen.

Edit : Il-2 Sturmovik 1946 is incompatible with Windows 7. Great.
