Hell no.
Thanks to a combination of a generally high price level, and absurd taxes on alcohol, my money are on my home country for that. In Norway, cheap beer costs $2 for a 1/3 l bottle. Yes, that is the cheap beer.
In pubs and restaurants, you won't find anyone charging less than $6 for a beer. $10 is more common.
For me to stay home from work due to snow fall, I guess the snow fall would have to be at least 50 cm overnight - otherwise, my boss would have very little understanding for my absence.
Everyone except Vicky, that is.
Vicky, who is 60 years old and still living with her mother. Always has, never married or got her own place. And this spoiled brat - remember, I'm using that term on a friggin' senior citizen - still acts like a child. Her 80-year-old mother still does all the cooking and cleaning. This horrid bitch refused to go to work today because her 80-year-old stepfather hadn't shoveled the driveway yet, rather than pick up a damn shovel herself.
She's also the manager of a food store. Her spoiled laziness shut down the business until a replacement could show up - on her day off, in a sports car not built for snow, 6 months pregnant, from 20 miles away. Did I mention Vicky lives 2 miles from her job? She could have walked, or taken the bus which stops 100 feet from her house and across the street from her job.
Oh, and Vicky's response to everyone calling her on her shit: "You can't fire me. Union."
Yeah, it was a lovely day.
We had a semi-major storm here today, by local standard. Biggest in 3 years, and predicted to be a blizzard... but no, just heavy snow, not a blizzard. We got about 8 inches (20 cm for you funny folk). Naturally, everyone made it to work just fine, because any normal adult can handle that much snow. Not always easy or fun, but not a work-stopper.
