It's not a bad thing in itself, but it's a bit frustrating if you realise all your mates are out getting pissed at the same time.

So, how was the bike race, Wasted?

Just put a deposit down on a wood burner (big solid cast iron mother) and in preparation, opened up the fireplace and had it swept. I have no idea why people want to cover a 100 year old red-brick fire place with a stupid cheap gas log effect fire (like the previous owner of my house did) that stinks when used. It looked hideous before, but now it looks good.

There's something wonderful about wood heat.  It's so...warm and cozy.

Plus, there's hardly anything more pleasant sounding than crackling burning wood.

I kind of like the sound of terrible weather myself. Rain, thunder and such.
That is, when I am inside and not planning to go anywhere.

It was fun!  The kids had a great time, lots of family around and she did pretty good! 

@Albie, I agree!  I hafta have my chimney swept this year-- we just went out a few weeks ago wood cutting.  I try to burn about 2-3 cords per winter.  I have appx 2 cords now, so I'm going to get 1+ more before winter sets in.

@Foro, you are right!  I do enjoy sitting inside on a rainy day.
