The ideal setlist for me is a fixed setlist with a couple rotating spots here and there. Inevitably someone is going to be unhappy, but this thread proves that you can’t please everyone.

If they were to rotate songs, I wish they would do that with Wicker Man - BNW, TETMD and Clairvoyant.

These songs are by no means rarities and wouldn't be missed too much by the PLAY CLASSICS!!! crowd (who mainly think that after Powerslave, Maiden did not release anything listen worthy apart from FOTD, the song).
They tried to do that before, but they chose songs that are not straight forward (DOD and Paschendale), so that ended pretty soon because of a lot of mistakes. They simply bit off more that they could chew (not to mention that those songs werent performed for quite a while and were only played on DOD tour).

If they chose to rotate simpler songs like BNW, Wicker Man, TETMD and Clairvoyant, I think that it would work very well.

P.S. Dear Iron Maiden, if you replace a song again, why not try Wasted Years? It's a short song and as simple as Wrathchild.

The main problem with Paschendale in 2010 was Nicko and it was not entirely his fault. Apparently they did not send him that song in the list of tracks that he should prepare before the rehearsals and the consequence was not having enough time to relearn it.

I bet Mission From 'Arry 2 took place when Steve said we're gonna do Paschendale next during those rehearsals.

Honestly, I don’t care about solos. They’re all great but are an afterthought that only sweeten up Maiden’s incredibleness.

Powerslave has the best solo but it’s never sounded good live, so I really don’t care about another one. Jan can be as sloppy as he likes; I like his inventiveness.

Exactly. For example, I wouldn't mind if they rotated Clairvoyant and TETMD during this tour. They are both considered classics and are similar length (7 second difference). They also both have nothing to do with the stage thematics (apart from being on Seventh Son) and could both slot perfectly in that encore opening spot and would breathe some fresh air int the setlist. The double shows (Helsinki, Krakow and London) would be much more fun this way.

I was looking forward to see Clairvoyant in 2009. and 2014. and they dropped it from the setlists on both occasion. Still, if there is going to be some change in the setlist, I would prefer some newer songs to be included (BNW, Navigator, Out of the shadows, Different world). But, the unwritten law is that on the second leg of any history tour they include songs from the classic period (or first four albums to be precise) as replacements.

It is 2018. The band should begin revisiting its understanding of 'the history'. What we call "new songs" is 25 years old now.

If a Maiden fan stops listening to what comes after 1990, s/he should do so. I think the band made enough favor to them by prioritizing their desires in all these tours.

The 2019 North American leg will be interesting too see of they keep the likes of Sign Of The Cross and The Clansman considering it was said they didnt go down so well there last time they played them.

Wrathchild will replace WED. That's a given.
