Man, I still want Maiden to re-record Road To Hell as a single B-side. That song is Maidenish as hell and needs to have Nick and Steve on it.Pro-Tip, Maiden: Add Roy Z to the band as the fourth guitarist, giving you reason to make the Bruce solo material "canonical" and making you able to play material from them live.
Oh ye gods! My avoidance is ruined!!WELL SHIT I didn't make it to August, I just couldn't resist... after someone (not here, mind you) spoiled The Clansman I just had to look.
Aaaaaah! No!!! Lego... He was so young...WELL SHIT I didn't make it to August, I just couldn't resist... after someone (not here, mind you) spoiled The Clansman I just had to look.
What a hell of a setlist.... I'm honestly even more excited now
Also, Bruce is sounding pretty incredible, hard to believe he was getting his throat zapped by radiation just three years ago.
Meh- based on the tour trailers, Nicko's Where Eagles Dare performance at his drum shop, and all the rumors surrounding Icarus there wasn't a whole lot left that would have genuinely surprised me... aside from Fear of the Dark not being right before Iron MaidenAaaaaah! No!!! Lego... He was so young...
Anyways, even if you had known about Clansman (it was obvious from so many different sources), you should have stayed spoiler free. Up to including Icarus, the set is amazing, don't you think? After that it's a bit auto-pilot.
Would a 16 year old Lego have known what ftGGoG was?... if you went back in time and told 16 year old me that someday I'd be seeing a Maiden show with Aces, Eagles, Revelations, Clansman, Sign of the Cross, FTGGOG, Wicker Man, AND FLIGHT OF MOTHERFUCKING ICARUS in the same setlist I would have never believed it.

Absolutely! AMOLAD came out when I was about that age, it was my first new Maiden release as a fan. Probably why I think it's their best album (aside from the fact that it's just totally and inarguably their best album)Would a 16 year old you have known what ftGGoG was?
I'm really really REALLY trying not to complain about the lack of Somewhere In Time songs, because 1) I'm sure the first 100 pages of this thread are chock full of it
(aside from the fact that it's just totally and inarguably their best album)
I'd heard rumors about that on the official forum, someone was claiming they'd heard the band rehearse it. So I was already mentally prepared for the possibility.SOTC?
Yeh, that was kind of pointless, wasn't it.Well, this and during the first concert, as the songs premiered, there were, like, 20 posts on each page from different people announcing the songs, repeatedly.
I never thought it would be true, but it is... hopefully they listen to Nicko when they're tweaking the setlist for the 2019 leg......Or Aces High with Caught Somewhere in Time. But that's literally less likely than Alexander the Great at this point.
And I bet there was a bit of "THEY'RE NOT ACTUALLY GOING TO DO RARE SONG (insert song name) EVER" followed by Iron Maiden actually playing that songWell, the first 100 pages are chock full of song names - during the first concert, as the songs premiered, there were, like, 20 posts on each page from different people announcing the songs, repeatedly. You've missed a lot.

Actually I don't think there's been much complaining about the lack of SiT songs in the set. A couple of mentions, mostly. But yeah there's no way to fit one in there anywhere. Maybe if you replaced The Wicker Man with Wasted Years or something.
