You're right that a proper arena tour usually follows a new album. It was different for 'The Book Of Souls' obviously because of Bruce's cancer. Fingers crossed that things go smoothly for everyone involved this time.

That has always been the case, but their days as an active band are numbered, so I'd rather have a UK tour first and the festival next, unlike for TBOS. :)
 
Do you think they will do a Full Tour 2020 or they will cut the tour in legs like the last years doing a Summer Festivals Tour trough Europe ending with UK tour 2020 and a second leg trough South America, Australia, Japan and USA and ending again in Europe 2021?

No idea, but I do not think they would do a Full Tour in 2020, rather split it over 2 years like LOTB. They need to give markets a rest (e.g. it would not make sense to go back to North America and South America until 2021).

Yes, I'd rather no more nonsense, just an album followed by an album tour, no nostalgia tours and no second legs etc. anymore, there isn't time. If there has to be outdoor gigs then have them somewhere with no mud and easy to travel to.
 
I'm (probably) going to serve in the army next February (it's mandatory for all men here in Greece). If Maiden do a Euro Tour for the album in 2020 and I miss it, I'm gonna be pretty pissed.
 
I'll make a prediction...:lol: The title of the new Maiden album will be only from one word (ex. Killers)

Or they again will add ''The''..... something. :p
 
Well, let's keep on topic. A rumour from a trusted forum member that Maiden is looking to tour next year is a good sign, but we can discuss those specifics when they happen.
 
I can see it, especially if they use BOS leftovers. The Maiden albums keep getting longer and the last one was somewhat short for a double.

I doubt, but who knows what is on their minds. Maybe they will do a album with short songs and 1 or 2 epics (back to the roots). I will welcome that.

But it will be a real surprise if they release a even longer album than TBOS.
 
Can’t wait to hear some new Maiden tunes, TBOS was their best new album in a long time, and contained many great melodies and vocal likes!

Hope they can come up with yet another masterpiece. And it’s awesome to know that just a handful of people have heard the new songs, and are waiting to be unleashed to us fans in the near future!
 
I'd be surprised if they make another double album. It feels like TBOS was unique in that aspect. Bruce writing a 18-minute epic is probably once in a lifetime, and without that one it would have been around the length of The Final Frontier.
 
I have said it somewhere and I will say it again: I'm pretty sure the next album will be shorter than TBOS and that they (especially Steve) will try to make more short rockers and 6-7 mins songs.

I expect something like SSoaSS and what I'm saying is based on those interviews in 2015-2016ish where Steve and Adrian said many times things like: "yeah, we don't know, we just go and it ends up like this", "but maybe next time we will try to do something more direct, you never know".

They have been asked way too many times about that and the answers suggest, at least for me, that the next album will be shorter and more direct.

Just my feeling, ofc, but it's based on the things they said.
