Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

This seems like an overreaction. ::)

It was also unnecessary for Steve to add in a line from the studio over the crowd. The sound from the crowd is one of the highlights of Rock in Rio. So many live albums are are totally devoid of any contribution from the crowd and it feels dead without that aspect of a live show.

Yeah and when you realise it's a copy and paste, that's all you can hear when listening to it.

I don't know about Brave New World, but there's definitely a copy/pasted line in Fear of the Dark, the one that's usually left for the crowd to sing. I seem to remember that this was what the controversy was about back then.

Yes. There's copy and paste on The Wicker Man and The Clansman as well. Both on "Ooooooooooo" parts.

The line I'm thinking about is "a brave new world", he sings it about 4 times in a row without saying "in a brave new world" think it's maybe the second chorus

That's possible I guess, but the one copy/paste job that always stuck out to me is the Fear of the Dark one.

Personally I think the copy and paste was the lesser of 2 evils as the crowd aren't in unison. Not surprising considering there was so many of them. Maybe the crowd noise could have been doctored to sound better. But aye, it irks a bit and cant be unheard.

And in the chorus when Bruce shouts "WHAT!" and "LOUDER!" about an octave higher than the melody and then somehow manages to sing "FREEDOM" with the audience at the correct pitch right after each shout without taking an audible breath.

I remember some rumours that it says that in the TV Broadcast, between songs Bruce bad talked about pop and Michael Jackson, anyone knows about this?

He had an expletive-laden rant about how FUCKING GREAT AND TRVE IRON MAIDEN AND METAL ARE and how shitty Brittney Spears is and Maiden has come back to kick everyone's ass.
But that one is in the album. It's just not on the video.

It was on the official forum.

Prior to the release of Rock in Rio, Bruce had said in some interview that there was no overdubs on Rock in Rio, and some fan pointed out there was on Brave New World as you could see by comparing the TV broadcast to the promo clip of Rock in Rio and the fan then explicitly accused Bruce of lying.

Apparently it had not been an "overdub" per se, but rather Steve copied and pasted a line in the chorus where Bruce hadn't sung to cover up the fans singing. Bruce may not have even been aware that had been done. So Steve released a statement saying he was disgusted that Bruce's integrity had been called in to question and threatened to close down the official forum. I think there may have been some sort of restriction placed on posting or something like that, I don't really remember, maybe Ghost of Cain remembers or anyone else who was around at the time.

EDIT: I think they ended up closing down the General Chat on the forum as punishment

I do not remember Steve's outburst affecting the forum, but the rest of it is as @srfc tells it.

There is also one in Run to the Hills if I remember correctly.
